If you thought you knew what to expect from a story about fighting cancer, you will be pleasantly surprised by Carrie Brown's Losing My Balance: a 27-year-olds journey through breast cancer. I was instantly hooked by its honesty, intelligence and humour. It made me laugh, it made me cry, but most of all it made me think. --Sunday Tribune Newspaper
About the Author
Carolyn (Carrie) Brown now 31 began writing her book in 2004 just after she started chemotherapy - a book which took a year to complete. At 27 she was well on her way to living her dreams. She had married her high school sweetheart, Kelvin Brown and moved to London to build a life together. It was here that she first felt a lump in her breast, but she was only diagnosed later in South Africa with a highly aggressive strain of breast cancer which claimed her right breast and nearly her life. What kept her going was her positive attitude. This is her story.
