Great Read!, May 1, 2003
This review is from: Losing that Lovin' Feeling: Learning to Fall out of Love (Paperback)
When I first heard about Lou's latest book, Losing That Lovin' Feeling, I felt I had no need to read it. Twenty-two years after my divorce, I felt that I was an "all right" person with some pretty good coping skills. Whoa!! Was I ever wrong! Using Biblical principles, Lou explores a plethora of feelings that encompass our past, our present and our FUTURE as singles. Reading this book is enabling me to deal in a God-honoring way with these feelings. This book is a great read--one you'll want to keep and recommend to others. Get your highlighter out and be ready to use it as you read!

Extremely helpful!, May 6, 2005
This review is from: Losing that Lovin' Feeling: Learning to Fall out of Love (Paperback)
Are you struggling to get over your past relationship? Do you feel like you can never love again? Are you wondering how a Christian should deal with heartbreak? Well, if you're tired of the "typical" answers that your friends give when you try to tell them how your heart is bleeding and you feel numb all over, pick up this book! A word of caution though - the truth isn't always easy to hear (or read). Priolo doesn't let us off the hook easily, but instead confronts the reader with truths found throughout the Bible. He cautions us against common post-relationship problems - the kinds that are self-destructive and only prolong the pain - such as self-pity and running to things like alcohol, rebound relationships or even excessive eating. Most importantly, though, Priolo points the reader to the only One who can truly heal the pain and fill that infinite void in our souls.

excellent and helpful book on how to deal with breakups!!!, September 7, 2005
This review is from: Losing that Lovin' Feeling: Learning to Fall out of Love (Paperback)
I'm so thankful for Lou Priolo and this book, "Losing That Lovin' Feeling" because it had the essential biblical truths I needed to read after a very difficult break-up. The way Lou teaches from the Bible is so clear and practical, yet gentle and sympathetic to someone who's just lost a significant other. I really appreciated the fundamentals that he reminded me of - things such as forgiveness, dealing with bitterness, turning to Christ for all my needs, etc. The truths really cut to my heart and I was definitely encouraged to press on harder as a believer! Also, I appreciated the appendices of the book, which lists ways in which I am being bitter, unforgiving, or unloving. He also lists practical ways to "cut off" the things that hinder you from getting over your ex. The examples in the book are great too, and really helps you to believe that God does not give you more than you can handle, and that other people are struggling with break ups too! I highly, highly recommend this book for anyone who is struggling over a broken relationship, whether it's with an ex or family/friend, because it outlines the Biblical steps in dealing with heartache!
