The Lost Book of Salem was a very interesting book that ties the Salem Witch trials to the present time. It was also extremely fascinating to learn that the author herself was related to someone from the Witch Trials. It is a great book to read if you are interested in the Witch Trials and a little bit of magic.

Like The Ghost Lady previously wrote, I was very unpleasantly surprised to find this is the same book as her Deliverance Dane book, just with a different name. It seems this is the UK version. I am extremely unhappy with Amazon for allowing this. I just wish Ghost Lady's review had been only a few days sooner so I could have seen it before ordering this book. Huge thumbs down for Amazon on this purchase. Amazon should be the one informing the public about this title.

I had already bought Ms. Howe's "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane" and thoroughly enjoyed it. so when I saw this title I thought it would be a continuation of the story or perhaps a prequel to the "Physick Book." Imagine my surprise when, after receiving "The Lost Book of Salem," I discovered that it is the exact same book (The Physick Book . . . ) but with a different title! This fact wasn't mentioned on any site that I could find where the book was offered for sale..

Very disappointing. I could have bought another of Ms. Howe's books (or another author's works) instead of duplicating what I already had.

I would give the story 5 stars but the questionable practice of offering the same book under two different titles, zero!

I Loved this book! I was interested in Salem and the witch trials to begin with but this book piqued my interest even more. I could not put it down. If you liked the Davinci Code, you'll love this one too. It went back and forth between the trials and 1991 and it was just great. Read it!

I was kind of disappointed when I received the book, The Lost Book of Salem, not because it wasn't a good book or that I did not receive the book promptly, but because it was the EXACT SAME book as The Physic Book of Deleverance Dane, which I had recently read. The reason I ordered The Lost Book of Salem in the first place was because it was by the same author, Katherine Howe, and I throughly enjoyed The Physic Book of Deliverance Dane. So it was my fault for not checking things out before I ordered. However I did feel douped. Why was this book released under two different titles?

Whether you read The Lost Book of Salem or The Physic Book of Deliverance Dane, I do recommend this book. It is well written and well researched. I couldn't put it down. I would like to read more books by this author, especially in this genera.

Its a good read. So far, not my absolute favorite novel of the burning times ("The Physic Book of Deliverance Dane"), but still a good read.

I read this, having been to Salem in my travels.

I wasn't expecting a book with magic.

Whilst telling the story, the magic takes place.

Based on real people [author is a descendant] the story tell its tale in timeframes.

But, the magic inserts itself into your mind as the story evolves.

I can't wait for the authors next book.The Lost Book of Salem

This is an excellent romance novel if that's what you like. I purchased it because I thought it was historical fiction-not really. It has some really cheesy lines in it and would be a great book for a frustrated person.
