5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Chakra CD. Intention is Clear...
I have to say that of the CDs of that I own by Goldman, this is one of the most richly layered and intentfully well-put together CDs I've experienced.

For this CD Goldman uses sacred ratios, corresponding chakra sounds, mantras, bijas, sacred code frequencies and just about every connective historical vocal and musical tool known to achieve deep meditation...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rpetitive but wounderful
Definatelly a wounderful meditation tool, or just to let go of your stressful day,..but I felt I was hearing the same entry over and over. There wasant the Deep Highs and deep Lows. All the entries seemed like a repeat of the one before.

I have to say that of the CDs of that I own by Goldman, this is one of the most richly layered and intentfully well-put together CDs I've experienced.

For this CD Goldman uses sacred ratios, corresponding chakra sounds, mantras, bijas, sacred code frequencies and just about every connective historical vocal and musical tool known to achieve deep meditation and penetrative healing, including intervals using the Fibonacci Series and use of sacred geometry by way of The Tree of Life.

All of what is included and what the musical result of it is, is quite overwhelming, and as you might imagine if you are familiar with all that I've mentioned above...incredibly powerful.

As for the music, it is quite beautifully done. A couple of favorites of mine on ths CD are "Call of Compassion" and "Embracing the Beloved" and after hearing the samples they are the reason I made the purchase.

When I bought the CD I had no idea that so much was layered into it until I read the insert, but I was especially excited to find it out!

There are 14 tracks on the CD. Each track is approximately 4 minutes long and flows gracefully to the next. The chakra balancing starts from the root, moves up each center to the crown, and then again climbs back down to the root to finish.

The pace of the CD runs about 50 beats per minute, the approximate beat-rate per minute of a healthy heart while at rest. The music has a bit of an east asian or middle eastern flavor to it with tribal beats.

The overlaying chants, bijas, mantras and chakra sounds are put together in a way that creates calm, focus, and a sense of peace and safety. There is a subtle intensity to the music that seems to highlight and ground "being on purpose". I feel that there are definitely some powerful manifesting energies spinning throughout.

Having the insert to read is a must, as it thoroughly explains how the music was woven together. The information allowed me to connect with just how much research and care went into putting the music together, and with that, how much intent was put into creating probably THE most definitive and thorough chakra balancing and healing CD available on the market. The clarity of therapeutic intent that comes through by reading just the insert is powerful, empowering and inspiring on its own!

5.0 out of 5 stars The next level in chant, July 9, 2004

I have been listening daily and (also) falling asleep to this cd for over a year. Listening to this cd is sacred technology for stress relief and daily healing. I also listen to Goldman's "OM" cd as a prelude to my meditation sessions. This artist has, in my opinion, taken this (chant) genre to an entirely new level...raised the bar considerably. If you are looking for something modern, yet keeping with the essence of sacred tradition, then purchase this CD. Goldman can proudly join company with David Hykes and Christian Bollman et al. I thank the author for his thoughtfull contribution to modern sacred music and introducing eastern chant to western ears in such a powerfull, direct, unique, and beautifull way. Om Nama Shiva and blessings to all.

A masterful recording. There are no electronically produced sounds on this recording which results in a deep connection to the sounds when used with conscious intent. Great for healing work as well as meditation and visionary work. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great CD, April 8, 2003

I just love this cd and I agree with the other reviewers.

I play this cd at night when I am going to sleep, and I feel like I am being hugged. The sound envelopes me and I feel totally connected and secure and comforted. The chant changes very slightly so if you don't like what you hear on the sound samples you won't like the cd. The booklet that comes with the cd is amazingly comprehensive and provides valuable insights into the reasoning behind the production of the cd.

Playing the cd on a discman is amazing but it also sounds wonderful on a portable cd player. I recommend that you listen to all the sound samples and then take a risk - you won't regret it.

I discovered this CD while I was getting a massage and bought it immediately. Don't get me wrong, this is not one of those elevator music new age CD's.Instead it is deeply trance inducing yet strangely grounding. I recommend it highly for bodywork, yoga or making love

Anything by Jonathan Goldman is a pretty safe bet that it will be a 5 star minimum in my book. Jonathan is a master at sound healing vibrational music and has continually proved himself with such CDs as "The Lost Chord", "Holy Harmony", and many others. This is not what most people call music. It is the vibrational music that is often played during alternative healing modalities such as Reiki, Acupuncture, Meditation, and the like.

This CD includes a 32-page booklet. I love the fact that Jonathan not only provides this very special music for those on the path but also provides a substantial bit of info with each CD to help you to understand his efforts and intentions so that you can get the most out of his music. There are 14 tracks, totaling 59:33 minutes, or almost 1 hour.

"The Lost Chord" refers to the divine sound of creation, based on the belief that the world, and possibly the universe, were a creation of sound. This concept appears to be referenced in various religious texts. Jonathan explains that this CD may be used for: 1) charka resonance, 2) to create sacred and healing space during subtle energy and body work, 3) as a background with which to chant and tone 4) to travel to different planes of consciousness on the divine sounds, 5) for relaxation and stress reduction, 6) as a meditation tool, and 7) for listening enjoyment. Jonathan tells us that rather than traveling to the charkas one at a time, this piece travels up and down the charkas, as is the journey up and down the Tree of Life. The booklet covers more detail, of course, and also explains the charkas, the spoken sounds of the charkas, the Tree of Life, chants of the Tree, and more.

Now, if you do NOT believe that music can affect you, try checking out how you feel after you listen to different types of music, each for about an hour. Don't forget to try some music that evokes passionate feelings in you.

Do not play this music in the car or you may go to "the other side" sooner than was planned for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never heard anything else like it!, August 9, 2008

If I could take just one CD to a deserted island, this would be it. It is perfect for meditation, relaxation, sleep, or ritual. I have a very busy mind and this music can knock it right into trance within seconds like nothing else can. I feel as if listening to it sweeps me into the flow of the universe wrapped in a warm golden cloud, or perhaps a silver ocean of stars.

I've owned hundreds of tapes and CD's over the years, and still have more than I know what to do with. If I was stuck on a desert island with only one of them, 'The Lost Chord' would be the one I would pick.

It's uniquely rich and soothing, multi-layered and complex in a way that almost defies description. I use it as an alarm clock to wake up with in the morning and again to relax with when I get home from work at night. It's just the best, and I can't say better than that.

Wonderful tool for meditation, awareness of self and the dimensions around us. Used in conjunction with other CDs like Holy Harmony, it realized some amazing healing frequencies, not accessible by hands-on work alone for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars this is the new sacred music, March 14, 2009
This review is from: Lost Chord (Audio CD)
i've had this album for a few months now
and have recognized that, somehow, it's one of his best.
there's a certain feel to it...
sort of like it awakens an unconscious murmuring inside...
a seed lying dormant waiting to sprout and grow.

i just put it on this evening.
i had been listening to some other music,
and getting really involved in the band's saga throughout the years.
struggles, conflicts, etc., were all part of the listening experience,
simply through their history.

i was identifying with the music, the time, the musicians,
but i also felt the sensations i have become accustomed to
which arise when i sort of go off track in my life,
temporarily lose my direction, a sort of murky feeling in my head.
my thoughts a maze, and a general sort of lethargic state.

i decided to end it, took a break, and then searched
for some music that would clear my head.

i looked through my stuff, and saw Jonathan Goldman.
at random i put this one on and as soon as the throat chant
started on Entering The Sacred everything cleared.

that voice is like an echo from an old past...
perhaps humanity's collective history and unconscious longings.
something timeless in it, transcending culture and time.
it's not a new dream to dream, but something to accompany the movement
from dreaming, ignorance and confusion, to clarity and understanding.

it's very interesting that Jonathan rarely limits himself to one tradition.
this album features many different 'tried & tested' spiritual chants
from our whole collective history.

it's like flying around the earth, witnessing the rise and fall
of cultural and spiritual traditions, knowing all that has been known,
re-awakening into it in one's own, immediate, life.

this album is basically saying, "this is HOME, and you're welcome
to come back" and the HOME referred to is the state of wisdom,
seeing with clarity, not being limited and bound by self-imposed
and self-contracting thought-systems tied to culture and time.

seeing into eternity with naked eyes.

the album flows like a vision quest sort of experience.

in constant movement.

and yet there's something in it which seems motionless,

that element which remains throughout all coming and going,
rising and falling.

this is the new sacred music.
