A Definitive Work on Loving and Serving Others,
By
This review is from: The Lost Commandment: Have We Missed What Jesus Really Wants? (Paperback)
Dave Greber has written the definitive work on how we as Christians can and should love and serve others. In rediscovering Christ's commandment to 'love one another as I have loved you' the author tells us why this commandment supercedes the Golden Rule. Dave gives good practical advice and personal stories which help the user flesh out what this higher standard of love, service and forgiveness looks like in everyday life. This is an excellent primer on how to live the Christian life and experience joy, the way our saviour taught us to during His earthly ministry.

A Great Resource,
By notes of jubilee (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lost Commandment: Have We Missed What Jesus Really Wants? (Paperback)
This book is so packed with information that it is a resource that can be used time and time again. It has the potential to transform the reader as well as the church as a whole. If we live our lives as this book suggests - To love one another as Christ loves us - more will be drawn to Christ as a result of being authentic Christians. This book should be in every church library on and on the bookshelf of every Christian.

Author's Life Sells The Book's Premise,
By
This review is from: The Lost Commandment: Have We Missed What Jesus Really Wants? (Paperback)
I purchased this book because I was biased toward the author who had shown me, a total stranger, what the essence of his subject matter looked like walking around in shoes. Dave Greber used his power of influence to rally support for my personal dilemma. His kindness was nonsensical, exorbitant and totally unwarranted, much like the usual injustices of the world. I had to read what kind of theology prompted this kind of living. I did not come to his view of the scripture with the same bias. Rather, I wondered if it was just so much ruckus over really just a matter of word choice. You say The Lost Commandment; I say The Golden Rule - you say pototo; I say potato. We agree but call it different things.
This writer did a fine job of changing my mind with one simple point. The Golden Rule demands a kindness that all are capable of, while The Lost Commandment is directly tied to a relationship making the fulfillment of it impossible without embracing Christianity. I most enjoyed the chapter on humility and was most disturbed and helped by the chapters on forgiveness and reconciliation.
