One of the better double disk CDs and definately overlooked,

Listen to his lyrics. Eightball not only is a rapper but an MC as well. He can weave an amazing story on a record. A lot of southern artist do not possess this ability. The beats are catchy as well for i.e "the artist pays the price" uses an old marvin gaye sample. This is a classic southern record.

Eightball has been doing his thing with MJG for years so it was only fitting that Eightball had his own solo album. The end product is one of the best double albums ever made. Eightball can give you good product by himself just check the Intro and Put Tha House On It. Eightball also tells some great stories like My Homeboy's Girlfriend where he gives an all too realistic account of a best friend's girlfriend throwing herself at him, or check out Time where he talks about how his friends changed on him when he started to become successful or check out All 4 Nuthin where he talks about all the trouble he was in when he was growing up. He also drops some gems like The Artist Pays The Price and I Dont Wanna Die and he threw some at you in the intro(if you were paying attention). As for guest appearances there are a too many to remember so I will focus on the highlights. Eighball teams up with the very strange group from Chicago(Psycho Drama) to put together the dynamic Drama In My Life(also on the Woo soundtrack). Goodie Mob joins in on Backyard Mississippi where everybody drops a gem and Busta Rhymes and Eightball shut it down on Get Money. Redman and Eightball go back and forth in a Red and Meth fashion in Coffee Shoppe, Even though Eightball's rhymes were hot Bun B stole the show on Ball And Bun. Of course MJG makes his presence felt on Stompin and Pimpin, Let's Ride and Put Your Hands Up. My First Love is Eightball's version of Common's I Used To Love H.E.R. as he expresses his love for hip hop over the sample for Sting's Wrapped Around Your Finger. The only song I didnt feel was Get Bucked which sounded out of place on this album. The second disc ends with Eightball giving a touching tribute to his mother called This Is Dedicated which also features Phoenix Johnson(who somewhat sounds like Mya). Bottom Line: Eightball's Lost is Eightball's best album ever. Eightball busts the best verses of his rap career on this album over flaming hot production by the most overlooked producer in the south: T-Mix.
Lost is undeniably a highlight for 98 and it takes its place with other solid double albums like 2pac's All Eyez On Me, The Notorious Big's Life After Death, Wutang's Wutang Forever and Bone Thugs N Harmony's The Art Of War. Standout Tracks on disc 1: INTRO, PUT THA HOUSE ON IT, ALL 4 NUTHIN, BOUNCE WIT ME, DRAMA IN MY LIFE, MY HOMEBOY'S GIRLFRIEND, IF I DIE, BACKYARD MISSISSIPPI, GET MONEY, GHETTO LUV, ALL ON ME and LOST. Standout Tracks on disc 2: LET'S RIDE(also off of the I Got The Hook Up soundtrack), TIME, COFFEE SHOPPE, PURE UNCUT(the remix with Mcgruff, Canibus and DMX is sick too), DOWN AND OUT, BALL AND BUN, I DONT WANNA DIE, MY FIRST LOVE and THIS IS DEDICATED.
