That song is probably one of the best songs on the album.

These two classic albums have been sadly out of print for years, making this CD a great find for any lover of great music, country or otherwise!

The album has about 20 songs on it, and the variety of songs are great.

These 2 albums are where Ronnie is at his best. I wish they would release double albums for his complete discography. His 80's albums are Immaculate. The only complaint I have for this edition is that they left out "Somebody like you" from Heart and Soul. That song is probably one of the best songs on the album. Come on guys. If you are going to re-release an album, don't leave anything out.

I played my record almost thin in the 70's, so went on the search for a cd to enjoy now.
Lost in the Fifties is current playing on my unit....I put it on repeat , so listen to this song long as I wish,
Then move onto Heard it on the Grapevine, my 2nd fav. There is no song I dislike. It is a win -win.

These two classic albums have been sadly out of print for years, making this CD a great find for any lover of great music, country or otherwise! Ronnie Milsap's body of work during the 1980's revealed a truly supreme level of vocal talent and versatility few artists in any genre of music can compete with. Milsap reached a creative peak in 1986 and 87 with possibly the two finest albums of his career, the award winning Lost in the 50's Tonight, and the equally excellent Heart and Soul. These two great albums show Milsap doing what he does best, pushing past the boundaries of pure country music by tackling a wide variety of musical styles rarely attempted by any country performer. These albums not only produced seven number one hits on the Billboard charts, they offered a remarkable display of musical diversity that place Milsap in the same league as Linda Ronstadt as one of America's most versatile singing talents.

In 1985, Ronnie Milsap released a sparkling new doo-wop ballad that captured the authentic sound and feel of the 1950's with a great sax solo, rich backing vocals, and one of Ronnie's most soulful vocal performances ever. "Lost in the 50's tonight" shot straight to number one on the country charts and won a couple of grammies for Milsap, quickly becoming one of the most popular songs of his career. The album rightfully earned a gold record for Milsap, won "Album of the Year" at the CMA awards in 1986. "How do I turn you on" and "In Love" are two singles with a strong pop feel that topped the country charts, and "Happy Happy birthday baby" is another oldie from the 50's that Milsap took to number one as well. Ronnie also delivers a top-notch version of "I heard it through the Grapevine" that displays his talent for bettering the original version of a classic song.
