Lost and Found,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lost and Found (Bluford High Series #1) (Paperback)
This story was about two girls who are sisters: Darcy Wills, who is in highschool, and Jamee Wills, who is in middleschool. They live with their mom, who always works, and their grandmother, who had a stroke last year.Jamee has a boyfriend named Bobby, who is in highschool. Bobby talks about Jamee behind her back to his friends. Jamee starts to act weird, and steals CDS for Bobby. Jamee doesn't like her grandmother anymore; because of the stroke the grandmother has been acting differently. She will think that either she is the child and her mom is there, or think that Darcy and Jamee are Mattie, which is their mom or thr grandmom's daughter, and Charlotte, which is their aunt or Mattie's sister. Jamee ends up running away because of Darcy yelling at her for going out with Bobby. Someone also comes back in her life who makes her runaway also. In this story I felt I could relate to Darcy the most. She is just looking out for her sister. I can relate because I care and look out for my sister. I really liked this book. My favorite part of the book was when Darcy reunited with the person at the end. I know it felt good to see that person. My least favorite part of the book was the way Bobby treated Jamee. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. If I could change something in this book I wouldn't. I would recommend this book to alot of people who like to read a book and not put it down.

This review is from: Lost and Found (Bluford High Series #1) (Paperback)
This series is a great series to use in the middle school/high school classroom. For the first time my students were actively engaged. They couldn't wait until the next time and they even asked to read longer. Darcy and her friends are characters that explore race, relationships, single parenthood, and many other aspects of life. It was great to find books that my minority students could really relate to.

Darcy wills is a normal kid in high school, she is very bright and doesn't have a lot of friends. Her best friend is supposed to be Brisana Meeks, but she doesn't really act like one. Darcy starts to realize that not all the kids at Bluford High School are all bad, and she starts to make more friends. Tarah, Cooper, and Hakeem. They all become very close and Darcy likes this. Darcy also has a younger sister and is always worried about her because she hangs out with the wrong kids and is getting bad grades in school. Darcy has to be the one looking out for her because her mom is always so tired from working, because she is a nurse and does the night shift. One day Jamee, Darcy's younger sister, comes home and is all beaten up, she has a black eye and bruises all over her body. Darcy starts to worry even more. Darcy thought it was the boy Jamee had been seeing. Well and if that's not enough for Darcy to handle lets add in that her dad that had left her family five years ago shows up. Darcy thought it was some guy trying to kidnap her and she calls the police. Then just when you think everything is going to get better the most unlikely thing happens, Jamee runs away! Darcy and her new friends set out and try to find her, when Darcy begins to give up on all hope she calls her dad. Darcy's dad shows up and said they left one spot out, the mountain they use to go to when they were all a family. So they hurry up there and start calling her name, then all of a sudden her dad stops....he stops by the tree that he named Jamee princes of the forest under the last time they went hiking before their dad left. So in the end Jamee is ok and Darcy has new friends, their dad is trying so hard to come back in their lives and all is good.

A Great Series,
A Kid's Review

January 19, 2007 Lost and Found Book Review
"Darcy looked around the empty street desperately. Maybe she should just take off running. But what if he chased her? What if he had a gun and shot her while she ran?" Darcy Wills, the main character, is a 16 - year - old girl who is going through a lot with her family and friends. First a mysterious car was following her who turned out to be her father, who walked out on their family five years prior. Jamee, her sister, was the closest to their father, and when it became clear that their mother might not take him back, she ran away. Darcy helped solve the problem, which helped Mrs. Wills give their father a chance. I loved this book because it shows that everyone isn't perfect. I liked Lost and Found because it shows that people can change. Mr. Wills, Darcy's father, left their family without warning. He basically slipped away, leaving the two young girls to explain it to their mother. When he came back five years later, he claimed he was a changed man. He tried his best to reconnect with his children. Asking to take them out to dinner or just to talk to him. When he ran off to New York, he began to drink and when he came back he had become sober. He also tried to apologize and reconnect with Mrs. Wills after all the hurt he had caused her. He did all he could to try to go back to the way it used to be. I also liked this novel because it shows that your heartaches can only last so long. In this novel, Jamee, Darcy's 14 - year- old sister, got mixed up with the wrong crowd. The bad behavior began right after their father ran off with a woman to New York. Since she was the youngest and she was "daddy's little girl" out of the sisters, she took it the hardest. Jamee began hanging out with a bad boy who went to Bluford High with Darcy. He made her steal for him, but she thought he loved her so she continued to do it. After Darcy's father came back she stopped talking to him and changed completely. Also I liked this book because Darcy was able to balance all of the things in her life with the help of her friends. Darcy's grandmother had a stroke, which caused her to forget the people she loved, or made her believe she was a child again living in Alabama. Mrs. Wills often looked to Darcy and Jamee for help because of her demanding work schedule. Also, Jamee ran away when she realized her parents might truly be over. Darcy called on the one person who could really help- even if she was still uncomfortable around him- their father. Darcy was able to balance all of that, schoolwork, and her friends. I recommend this book to all people who love happy endings. In the end, Darcy's parents tried to make the best of the situation. They began talking positively. Mrs. Wills asked a neighbor to sit with her mother on certain days so Darcy and Jamee could go out with their friends. Brisana, Darcy's old friend, got a chance to restart their friendship. In the end everything turned out right. By S. Moore

Lost & Found (4.5),
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lost and Found (Bluford High Series #1) (Paperback)
Darcy Wills is a highschool that is going through a lot of drama right now. She is still recovering from when her father walked out on her 5 years ago. Her sister is hanging around with the wrong crew and is stealing for her boyfriend and suddenly disappearing. It been even harder since her grandmother had her stroke. She thinks she's still young. Her mother is never home because she is always working late in the ER. Nobody likes her and even her and her best friend are going to start to have differences. Life is just rough. It doesn't help either when she is being stalked by some weird guy.
I liked this book a lot. There were a lot of twist and turns. I felt sorry for Darcy throughout the whole book. The book put me in a sad mood through most of it. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I just didn't like the mood. It was great writing thogh to make me feel that way in the fist place. So, I would really give it 4.5 stars. The second book will have a better feel to it, so I can basically guarantee a 5 star rating.

Lost and Found,
This review is from: Lost and Found (Bluford High Series #1) (Paperback)
This book is about a girl named Darcy Wills. The story starts off where she has to do a project with Tarah Cooper. Darcy doesn't like Tarah and neither does her best friend. Darcy learns to like Tarah and not be so uppity.
The there is Jamee Wills. Jamee has been hanging around a boy named Bobby Wallace too much. He is a bad influence on her. Jamee is working her way into a downward spiral and tries hard to get out of her way out of it. She would resort to anything. Even running away. Their stories are woven together and some of the things they go through are the same but trust me. You will love this book. I did.

Darcy's Story,
By CCS Middle School (Fairless Hills, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lost and Found (Bluford High Series #1) (Paperback)
If you like realistic books this book is for you. It is about these two teenage girls named Darcy and Jamee. They are sisters. Their mother works very hard and she is always tired. Their grandma had a stroke a year ago.
Their father left them when they were very little and everything has changed. Darcy and her sister Jamee were very close. But all of that changed since she got these new rowdy friends. They go to Bluford High School. Darcy is in trouble. She does know where to turn for help. There is a mysterious stranger who started to follow her. Then there was a threatening note on her desk at Bluford High School. Her sister had suddenly disappeared. In desperate time and need it all up to Darcy, she must save her sister and her family before it's too late. I like the part when the mysterious stranger is stalking Darcy. It's exciting and horrifying at the same time because out of nowhere he suddenly appears (on page 66-69.) I liked the part when Darcy's friend Cooper beaten up Booby Wallace (Jamee's boyfriend) and everyone thought that Cooper was a hero on page 82 to 83. I liked the part when this boy named Hakeem. He and Darcy started to like each other. I thought it was so cute (105-106.) When Jamee decided to runaway from home. They were all looking for her but they couldn't find her on page 107- 130.I thought this book was exciting, sad, funny and mysterious at the same time, a lot of people would enjoy this book as much as I did too. I would recommend this book for teenagers.
