Rich characterization - Characters are real, flawed.

The characters and the plot were very intriguing and evoked such intense emotions that I didn't want to put the book down until I had finished reading it.

"Tonight, I stand back from my life - which means I will walk away from my life.
I will walk into the unknown. Down a dark and winding path. But I will not walk alone.
He will illuminate the path ahead, one step at a time."

As I read Ginny Yttrup's words - words passing through the heart and mind of one of her main characters - I thought I was reading the words that have passed through my own heart and mind many times in the past few months. I've had to make the same excruciating choice Jenna faces in her own life crisis. Her story is very different from my own - as it is fictional - but my heart has echoed many, many of her thoughts and struggles. So many, in fact, that I wanted to know who'd been looking over my shoulder!

Seriously, all personal angst aside, Lost and Found is the most tender, profound, beautiful book I've ever had the privilege to read! Ginny is a master wordsmith, and she develops her characters into people you recognize in every stage of you life - in your own life perhaps! I loved the believability of all of the characters and the way Ginny wove their stories together one viewpoint at a time. That is not an easy way to write - and she did it beautifully and seamlessly. Her "voice" was as convincing as Matthew as it was Brigette or Jenna! I loved every one! (well, not Brigette!)

Lost and Found has made a profound impact on my life, and I am certain I will pour through its pages time and time again. If you are looking for a story that delves deeply into the human soul and plunges you into the depths of grace and love, you MUST read this book!! I know I will never, ever forget it!

Jenna, married to Gerard, famed vitner, both live under the controlling and suffocating rule of Gerard's mother Brigette. Jenna is always looking for ways to please Brigette, she seeks courage and comfort from God, yet she always feels inadequate, a victim of the lure of beauty gone wrong.
Andee, a successful businesswoman, whose drive to surpass her expectations of herself, encompasses her, grips and motivates her. She puts up walls around herself to hold her past life in and to keep others out. Her boyfriend Jason (Jenna's brother) supportive of her sees her as his other half.
Brigette, widow, has the upper hand in every business and personal tranaction concerning her winery and her family. A very strong and self assured person, she is in need of no help from anyone especially not God.
When tragedy strikes the family is forced to come together. Can they mend the hurt that separates them or will the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the present sever the bond they share?

This is a novel of life, of learning to live and learning to trust. A novel of heartbreak, betrayal, acceptance and God's perfect love.

Raw emotions gripped me holding my attention with every word. A well crafted novel that once I started reading found it impossible to put down. Character development surpassed my expectations as I felt I knew them. Dialogue and scenery worked very well together. This is one story I won't forget at least anytime soon. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future! I found the overall message inspiring and I was challenged in my faith. I would recommend this novel to others. Thanks to B&H Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC for my review.

Format: Paperback
As I begin to read the Bouvier family was having a charity brunch in a Georgian-style mansion that was built in 1912 in California. Jenna was not happy about having to go downstairs and attend. She was not happy about anything anymore. She had married a man a lot older that herself (or let's say forced to marry). Gerald Bouvier was forty-five to her twenty-one years and he was controlled by his mother.

At this time a lot of jewelry was missing that should have been in Jenna and Gerald's safe, she was so worried about what was going to be said when that was found out, she also was not as beautiful as she once was. She had a scar running down her face and Jenna just could not see past that. She had rather stay out of sight but the Bouviers would have none of that as it might look bad on them.

Jenna is a Christian and she wants to do what she thinks God would have her do but her husband and French mother-in-law was sure making it hard on her.

At the brunch her brother was in attendance with a young woman that Jenna didn't know but was supposed too. Andee Bell was a young woman that had the world in her hands and would do what ever she could to keep it that way. These two young women became friends in a long distance kind of way.
Can they both find and keep the love they so want and deserve?

This novel keeps you so interested that it would be so nice to be able to read it all in one setting.
T'hanks to Wynn Wynn Media for sending me this book to review.

I kept asking myself while reading Lost and Found by Ginny Yttrup, "what took me so long to pick it up?" I could hardly put it down. I am kind of glad I didn't start it on vacation as I am sure I would have lost myself in the book and missed something fun.
The thing about this book is I cannot put my finger on what it is I like about it, beside everything in it. The storyline is something that makes the characters come to life. Each chapter is spoken from a different person's perspective and it gives you a very three dimensional view of the story. It gives you a small peek into what each person is thinking and it just adds to the story and it makes the people you like or dislike that much easier to understand.
I found myself so caught up in the story that I would read well into the night when I should have been sleeping as I had to work the next day. It is something I could do in years past, but working on only 2 hours of sleep now is not a good idea for me. They would probably find me slumped over my desk sound asleep. J
I fell in love with Jenna. She is one of those characters that you just want to cheer on and hope that she overcomes everything life keeps throwing at her. She makes you want to be a better person. She married a guy who does love her, but is unable to defend her to her overbearing mother. She lives in their house, plus her mother-in-law is verbally abusive and controlling. I wanted to help her run away from that situation and yet loved being able to watch her find herself in all that was going on.
Andee on the other hand was one I struggled to like. Circumstances in her past forced her to put up walls and she still hides behind them.
