When i thought Jun couldn't suprise me any longer, this album is released! It's the best Sonic series vocal album yet!Track 1 is the best dark rock song i've ever heard,it just shows how Crush 40 is simply the best band ever.Track 2 is made by Powerman 5000,famous by their song "When Worlds Collide",but even though this song has excellent vocals and instrumentals, the lyrics...

3.0 out of 5 stars [3.5] For those who knew Crush 40 had more in them than hair metal and bubblegum, this is the Sonic EP you've been waiting for
A good deal of the personality of these Sonic vocal soundtrack EP's comes from the seemingly cryptic subtitles assigned. If "Cuts Unleashed" was resident maestro Jun Senoue's commentary on the importance of getting the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack out in unedited form, then maybe "Lost and Found" takes it one step further and actually refers to what was going on inside...

When i thought Jun couldn't suprise me any longer, this album is released! It's the best Sonic series vocal album yet!Track 1 is the best dark rock song i've ever heard,it just shows how Crush 40 is simply the best band ever.Track 2 is made by Powerman 5000,famous by their song "When Worlds Collide",but even though this song has excellent vocals and instrumentals, the lyrics are repetitive.Track 3 is made by the ones who made "This Machine" for Sonic Heroes, and it rocks!Track 4 is a disapointing remix of the E.G.G.M.A.N song from SA2,and the only bad song here.
Track 5 is a very deep song that owns you everytime you hear it.
The best thing about Track 6 are the lyrics, they're very good.
Track 7 is another amazing song by Crush 40,but to me,their best song is still "What I'm Made Of".Here's the Tracklist:

1-"I Am... All of Me" by Crush 40 [5 Stars and beyond]
2-"Almost Dead" by Powerman 5000 [4 Stars]
3-"Waking Up" by Julien-K [5 Stars]
4-"E.G.G.M.A.N Doc. Robeatnix" by Remix Factory [3 Stars]
5-"The Chosen One" by A2 [5 Stars]
6-"All Hail Shadow" by Magna-Fi [5 Stars]
7-"Never Turn Back" by Crush 40 [5 Stars and beyond]

Can't wait for the Next album!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST... SONIC... SOUNDTRACK...EVER!!!!!, November 26, 2006
This review is from: Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax (Audio CD)
This is by far the best Sonic music I have heard in a very long time. The songs are catchy, the guitars are amazing, and the vocals are great. The songs are individually rated as follows...

1. I Am... All Of Me- 5 out of 5- wow...WOW. Crush 40 has done it again. I own almost all of the Sonic soundtracks, and I've found all the best vocals are cranked out by these guys. This song is definitely ring tone material. Great guitars, awesome singing, I guarantee you'll find yourself singing this to yourself wherever you go. And for those that have played the game, yeah, this is the awesome version played during the fight with Devil Doom.

2. Almost Dead-4 out of 5- This song received more unnecessary criticism than it deserved. Sure, it's a little more hard core than most Sonic songs, but it is still pretty awesome. Every review I've read hated this song for the line "Heaven can't save us, Hell is joke." Ummm, well, personally, I don't find that offensive. If you can play the game, which has damn, hell, etc, then this one little line in this one little song shouldn't bother you. It's not like they're knocking on any one's religion or anything. Anyway, good song, might be a little too close to death metal for some, but I like it.

3. Waking Up-4 out of 5- Awesome techno song by Julien-K, the same artist also did the awesome Team Dark song in Sonic Heroes called "This Machine." Well, if you thought that was good, trust me, this is better. I would have liked a little more guitars or rock beat in it, but overall the song is great.

4. E.G.G.M.A.N. Doc. Robeatnix Mix-4 out of 5- Okay, to TRULY appreciate this song, you have to have the Vocal Soundtrack to Sonic Adventure 2. The original song was in there, and this song is the remix of it. Now, if you don't have the SA2 Vocal Soundtrack...lol, this song is pretty bad. However, if you DO have the Vocals Soundtrack, I think you'll agree that they did the best job of remixing it that they could.

5. The Chosen One-5 out of 5- This song is amazing. It's not the hard rock/techno type of song like the rest of the CD, but it still has just enough guitars and stuff to be awesome.

6. All Hail Shadow... 5 out of 5- Okay, I'll admit, I thought the lyrics "Obliterating everything that's not your friend" was pretty lame too, but when you get to the rest of the song, you completely forget about that. Vocals and guitars are great. I love the echoing "BOW YOUR HEADS LOW, ALL HAIL SHADOW!" You'll be putting this one (in addition to everything else on the CD) in your favorites list.

7. Never Turn Back -5 out of 5- YES!!!!! THIS IS THE AWESOME VERSION THEY PLAY DURING THE FINAL CREDITS, RIGHT DOWN TO THE PIANO VERSION OF "I AM... ALL OF ME" AND EVERYTHING!!!! I was so psyched when I found that out. This is the perfect way to end the CD and the game, the piano is almost like a good-bye, and then Crush 40 makes their final debut to the game with one of their best songs to date!

All in all, I highly recommend this CD to just about everyone. Parents, if you're worried about any bad content for your kids, there is no cussing or anything like in the game. Some people may have a problem with a couple of the lyrics (I see and feel the evil, my hand will crush them all), but there's nothing really bad or graphic in it at all. So get this CD asap, and I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars [3.5] For those who knew Crush 40 had more in them than hair metal and bubblegum, this is the Sonic EP you've been waiting for, April 26, 2007
This review is from: Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax (Audio CD)
A good deal of the personality of these Sonic vocal soundtrack EP's comes from the seemingly cryptic subtitles assigned. If "Cuts Unleashed" was resident maestro Jun Senoue's commentary on the importance of getting the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack out in unedited form, then maybe "Lost and Found" takes it one step further and actually refers to what was going on inside his band, Crush 40, in the process of recording it.

This is all just speculation, of course. And it's not a Crush 40 album, either, but they do claim the bookends and the highlights. Highlights because now that the mood of the game has changed, Crush 40 manages to shake off the majority of their cock-rocky tendencies while hanging onto their distinctive sound. "I Am (All of Me)" showcases a harsher, more intensive sound, but it doesn't feel like a front. And truth be told, one has to wonder if it wasn't even intentional. Even co-writer and mouthpiece Johnny Gioeli admits that when sitting down to write for this game and their eventual sophomore effort, their "sound had changed", dripping with the implications of the involuntary nature of this metamorphosis. Even when "Never Look Back" sounds like it could have been written by an early-00's Bon Jovi, Jun and John succeed in keeping themselves current equipped with nothing but their own convictions (check out the chilling piano reprise of the disc's opener) and not getting out-nü-metaled by the other acts on this disc without ever sounding as clichéd as a serious nü-metal outfit seems entitled to be these days.

Not that the bands that contribute should be ignored. Magna-Fi toss in the guilty pleasure by-the-numbers melodic hard-rocker "All Hail Shadow", while A2 slide in the dismal but hooky-as-all-hell "Chosen One". Former sci-fi rockers Powerman 5000 supply the disc with "Almost Dead", which finds the group closer to frontman Spider One's big brother Rob Zombie than anything the band has released themselves. But this album is aching for more melody and less grit, and something out of the vein of their own "Free" would have made this a much more solid album, possibly overshadowing the Remix Factory's disappointing eight-bar interlude looped over and over for three and a half minutes. Julien-K show up with "Waking Up", which sounds more in line with their "Death to Analog" demos than Heroes' throw "This Machine", which sounded more like a retooled Orgy idea (even imagining the opening riff conjures up flashes of the "Blue Monday" video).

Combine Julien's synth trip, A2's dreary beacon of light, Powerman's industrial headbanger, and Magna-Fi's emoesque rocker and you've got a cocktail of all different kinds of grim. Almost as if each act had a different vision of the darkness that would end up as the theme of this game. (Which wound up feeling just as inconsistant.) Crush 40 bring the most to the table, though, mainly because as dark as this is, it's still a Sonic (style) game. And there's nothing slow and lumbering about it. They keep the tempo in stride with that and Johnny never sounds like he's giving anything short of 110%.

Those who found Escape from the City, Follow Me and Believe in Myself among the highlights of the Sonic series probably should skip this outing. And with a price tag that ugly, it shouldn't be hard. But for those who always knew Crush 40 had something more interesting lying within them than hair metal and bubblegum, this is likely the Sonic soundtrack you've been waiting for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music To Set The Dark Mood, August 3, 2006

This review is from: Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax (Audio CD)
Alot of people coldly dissed Shadow when it first came out saying it was a bad game because the story went in so many directions that it didn't make sense. There were more swear words in it than one is used to in these kinds of games, and since when is a hedgehog allowed to weild a gun? Well I thought it was pretty damn good, (see my review for the game), yeah that's right I used the 'D' word just like Shadow. I've always enjoyed Sonic games but I thought it was about time they made a title that was more on the mature side. And the music sets the mood just right. I love the theme song "I Am...All Of Me" by Crush 40. Unfortunately I haven't heard the rest of the album yet but the background music, (ie: title and stage music), is pretty cool. Shadow has become my favorite character in the series because of his dark and mysterious past and of course his way bad attitude. He's even cooler than Sonic!! If you're a Shadow fan like me than you should get your mitts on a copy of this album. It will make you feel like the ultimate life form.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!!!!, June 15, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax (Audio CD)
THIS IS AN AWESOME SOUNDTRACK! (Especially if youe a Shadow freak!) Oh an by the way, im 13 and I got no e-mail:( this CD has all the vocal trax and a kinda retarded Eggman theme remix.Lemme review the songs to tell u what I think of them:
Track 1: I am-Crush40 This is the main theme in the game and its awesome cause its the extended version! i dunno how to discribe what kind of rock it is, i dunno maybe almost punk or heavy.10/10.
2.Almost Dead-Powerman5000 this is a so-so song. Its kinda hard-rockishtype of song.Be warned the lyrica are 'almost mild' 'cause they say the word hell.(ya know 'heaven cant save us hell is a joke no place left...)I give it a 7/10.
3.Waking Up-Julien-k This is a pretty good song, but they should of made it longer i mean with more words ya know what I mean? I think its sort of 'electric-rockish' type.Very cool though 9/10.
4.Eggman remix-Remix factory Remember during most events when you have to battle Eggman, that they pass a tiny bit of his themesong but remixed?thats the one here. Its kinda retarded and lame :( 5/10.
5.The Chozen One-A2 this one is one of my favorites. Its kinda sad and it describes Shadow in a sadish kinda way.:( The first time I heard this song I thought "What kinda song is this?" at first You might think this is retarded, but after you hear it more and more, you start to like it 10/10.
6.All Hail Shadow-Magna F-I this song is good and not-slow:)of course it talks about his good side and all that. Its pretty cool, but not really my favoriet 9/10.
7.Never Turn Back-Crush40 this is the song they pass at the very end when you beat Devil Doom. This ones oni of my favoriets and its normal rock.At the begining of this song, you hear a piano slowly and sadly playing the chorus of 'I Am'. then it goes on to the song which is super super cool 10/10.
thats all thats on the CD(lame isnt it?) its worth it if you love the vocal trax(like me!).If u like the trax, then this is a must-get! NOW BUY THIS CD OR ELSE ...I dunno what ill do...BUT ILL FIGURE IT OUT MARK MY WORDS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Album- A Girl's Review, April 2, 2010
This review is from: Lost and Found: Shadow the Hedgehog Vocal Trax (Audio CD)
A true Sonic fan like myself would like anything that Sonic Team dishes out game-wise, and although this game is very dark and edgy, it was still fun to play as and learn more about my #9 favorite Sonic character, Shadow the Hedgehog. This CD has the vocal tracks from the album, and they're as deliciously dark as the game itself. Here are my thoughts on the tracks:
1. I Am... All of Me- Crush 40 strikes musical gold yet again with this song. It's way darker and grittier than the previous songs that they did (Open Your Heart, Live and Learn, Sonic Heroes, and What I'm Made Of, among others), and that's what makes this song a refreshing change of pace. 9/10
2. Almost Dead- Now, to tell you the truth, I didn't like this track as much as I Am. The background music is a little chaotic. However, the lyrics are very good, and I'm glad Powerman 5000 took chances with this song. (I see this song got lots of flack from kids such as myself because of the line "Heaven can't save us/Hell is a joke". It's just a song. It's not like it's the Bible.) 7/10
3. Waking Up- This has to be my favorite track out of all the tracks on this CD. It's very up-tempo, and the techno-y feel fits my tastes like a glove. Julien-K never fails to make great songs; not with This Machine, and not at all with this one. 10/10 and beyond
4. E.G.G.M.A.N. (Doc Robeatnix Mix)- This is a very good remix of a very good song. Paul Shortino's voice still rings clear over the new beats that the Remix Factory smother him with. Though not techincally a vocal track, it's still a good song. 9/10
5. Chosen One- While Waking Up is my favorite song on this CD, Chosen One ties with the tune. Instead of a headbanger, Mona Lisa Overdrive (then referred to as A2) gives us a dismal, deep song that taps into many people's sadnesses. Contrasting the aforementioned favorite song that this ties with, it's very bleak and yet it has so much emotion. First time I heard it, I literally cried. Yet this tune gives many Shadow fangirls more reason to fangirl, and that's completely annoying on so many levels. 10/10 and beyond
6. All Hail Shadow- This tune is a total spirit-lifter, and it truly has a lot of fun energy to it. Magna-Fi gives us a reason to smile when being pummeled by the grimness of all the other songs. This was the one that sealed the deal for this CD, as it didn't make me go totally emo. This, Waking Up, and the E.G.G.M.A.N. remix are the spirit-lifters of the CD, and I'm happy they exist. 10/10
7. Never Turn Back- As I said before, the CD opens with a song by Crush 40. And, like the Sonic Heroes vocal CD, it closes with a song by them, too. This one harkens back to the days of Bon Jovi and other arena-rock bands. It's a true rush, and it's lots of fun to hear. But the part that really sealed the deal for the song was the opener. The chilling piano version of I Am let me know that this song was gonna be a good one. And guess what? I was totally right. 10/10

Overall score: 9.3/10- Outstanding

Overall, this CD is a great change of pace for the Sonic series. It's not recommended for those who like the brighter songs of the series. However, if you want new music with a new feel, then listen to this and you won't regret it. The sixth track says it all: BOW YOUR HEADS LOW, ALL HAIL SHADOW!
