Well illustrated book, not suitable for younger children,

This is a great book for children who are aged from about 5 to 10 years old. It is a bit too much like a horror story for children under 4!
'The Lost Happy Endings' is a story about a six fingered "deario" called Jub, who had a very important job. She had to run into the forest, climb up the the old oak tree and tip out all of the happy endings into the night's sky. Then one day a wicked, nasty, horrible witch stole the happy endings! We thought the book was fine, but it wasn't always very amusing and we thought it was a bit rude in places. The parts of it that we liked the most were the imaginative bits.

This story and its illustrations are beautiful, and are compelling to my six-year-old daughter. I'm glad we didn't get it for her earlier, though, because it's a bit scary. When the happy endings are lost, all the fairy tales endings go haywire -- e.g., the wolf devours Red Riding Hood and Snow White perishes permanently. When Jub prevails, the wicked witch is consumed horribly by flames as Jub watches helplessly.
