70's compilation CD's are everywhere. This collection, one in the EMI series of "Lost Hits...", however goes where few others have gone. Here, among the generous 20 tracks are encountered a few familiar top-20 tunes. The draw here though, is the appearance of many seldom-, if ever, found-on-CD top-100 tracks from that decade. An amazing ten of these are one-hit, alabeit minor, wonders. A few of the highlights include "Neanderthal Man" from Hotlegs, the group that evolved into 10cc, Charlie's Angel Cheryl Ladd's "Think It Over" and "When I'm Dead And Gone" by Brit's McGuinness Flint whose members included Gallagher and Lyle. These rarities, interspersed with the better-known hits, make for an interesting musical sampling of the music of the airwaves during the 70's. As such, it is of interest to the casual listener but even more so to the more zealous collector of 70's music.

The sound quality is adequate with all tracks in stereo. While this is a no-frills piece with no liner notes, it is a musically generous, interesting and desirable collection suitable to the fan of 70's charting airplay.

I love the fact that this is one CD that non of the tracks are featured on any other compilation that I own. Especially the Cheryl Ladd track and the song "I'm Not Lisa." This is worth it just for those two tracks alone.
