Throughout the game, players will explore more than two dozen graphically rich 3-D worlds as they uncover the mystery that threatens to destroy the five Kingdoms of Argwyll. Along the way, gamers have the opportunity to collect more than 100 unique Guardian Cards that can be used to release powerful creature allies such as fighting skeletons, ravaging wolves, and fire-breathing dragons. Each creature has its own special attack moves, which increase in range and power as Katia gains experience.
In addition to the single-player story mode, players can take on friends in two-player versus mode, pitting the creatures in their Guardian Card collections against one another in a battle to the finish.

Not a standard RPG, but not as bad as everybody thinks,

I bought this game the day it came out, and i was pretty hooked. A lot of people hated it, and found it boring, but the new RPG style is intriguing and difficult at parts. I have beaten the game completely, and I'll tell you that it is no easy task. Getting through the story mode isn't hard, I did it in about 6 and a half hours, but finding all the cards, getting all the fairies, and having 5 stars on every level (especially the last one) is a hard thing to do. The game says it should take 20 hours to finish, but I'd say 6 hours to complete story and a long time after that doing everything else (maybe not 20 hours, but close). If u like the game, take the time to finish it and don't stop after story mode. It's well worth it. The replay value of this game is fair, although everything is close to the same the second time. Multiplayer is fun if u know someone with a deck that is equal to your own, otherwise it's extremely boring. This game has great graphics, good sound, and an innovative new style. It lacks replayability, can be hard at first, the chick u play as is useless on her own, and the camera angles are shabby in spots. I'd recommend u rent it first, a lot of people won't like this game. But, if you're like me, pick it up right away. I'd give it a 4.5/5

As a mature gamer, I have been a bit disappointed with the games being released for the Game Cube over the past few months. My favorite game has been Stars Wars: Rogue Leader with Pikmin a close second. I owned Super Monkey Ball, but sold it on eBay.Lost Kingdoms is unique, though not as unique as Pikmin. I have enjoyed playing it so far and think it is one of the better games out there now. I am still trying to master the use of the cards. There are four attributes of cards: fire, water, earth, and wood, and you need to use cards on creatures where they will have the most power. For instance, a Skeleton is water and is most effective against a fire creature, like a Hobgoblin. Though I would expect more from Zelda. I think it is a good Adventure/RPG. The use of cards makes it fun. I have always wanted to play Magic, but my wife won't let me hang out with those kind of guys. It is a complex game--more complex than Pikmin and I hope longer than Pikmin or Lugi's Mansion. I will still keep looking forward to the Zelda Game Cube game (next year), but this game was worth the money.

Better than a regular RPG!!!,

I bought this game after reading a couple of reviews and was a little nervous. A lot of reveiws say this game [is bad], yeah right this game rocks! The card RPG idea is even better than a traditional RPG. I mean you get to design your own decks out of the cards you collected and name them! You can buy, sell, transform and copy your cards! The creatures you can collect and battle are really cool. My favorite thing about this game is once you finish (which I havn't yet) or even before you you are done with it. You and your friend get to load your decks from your files and battle them in a two player battle!! It is totally fun. In my opinion this game is just as good as final fantasy 10 if not better. Lost Kingdoms is a must buy for Gamecube if you like adventure RPG games. I hope this reveiw is helpful to you.
