Not a standard RPG, but not as bad as everybody thinks,

I bought this game the day it came out, and i was pretty hooked. A lot of people hated it, and found it boring, but the new RPG style is intriguing and difficult at parts. I have beaten the game completely, and I'll tell you that it is no easy task. Getting through the story mode isn't hard, I did it in about 6 and a half hours, but finding all the cards, getting all the fairies, and having 5 stars on every level (especially the last one) is a hard thing to do. The game says it should take 20 hours to finish, but I'd say 6 hours to complete story and a long time after that doing everything else (maybe not 20 hours, but close). If u like the game, take the time to finish it and don't stop after story mode. It's well worth it. The replay value of this game is fair, although everything is close to the same the second time. Multiplayer is fun if u know someone with a deck that is equal to your own, otherwise it's extremely boring. This game has great graphics, good sound, and an innovative new style. It lacks replayability, can be hard at first, the chick u play as is useless on her own, and the camera angles are shabby in spots. I'd recommend u rent it first, a lot of people won't like this game. But, if you're like me, pick it up right away. I'd give it a 4.5/5

Recomended...One of the better games out now.,

As a mature gamer, I have been a bit disappointed with the games being released for the Game Cube over the past few months. My favorite game has been Stars Wars: Rogue Leader with Pikmin a close second. I owned Super Monkey Ball, but sold it on eBay.Lost Kingdoms is unique, though not as unique as Pikmin. I have enjoyed playing it so far and think it is one of the better games out there now. I am still trying to master the use of the cards. There are four attributes of cards: fire, water, earth, and wood, and you need to use cards on creatures where they will have the most power. For instance, a Skeleton is water and is most effective against a fire creature, like a Hobgoblin. Though I would expect more from Zelda. I think it is a good Adventure/RPG. The use of cards makes it fun. I have always wanted to play Magic, but my wife won't let me hang out with those kind of guys. It is a complex game--more complex than Pikmin and I hope longer than Pikmin or Lugi's Mansion. I will still keep looking forward to the Zelda Game Cube game (next year), but this game was worth the money.

Better than a regular RPG!!!,

I bought this game after reading a couple of reviews and was a little nervous. A lot of reveiws say this game [is bad], yeah right this game rocks! The card RPG idea is even better than a traditional RPG. I mean you get to design your own decks out of the cards you collected and name them! You can buy, sell, transform and copy your cards! The creatures you can collect and battle are really cool. My favorite thing about this game is once you finish (which I havn't yet) or even before you you are done with it. You and your friend get to load your decks from your files and battle them in a two player battle!! It is totally fun. In my opinion this game is just as good as final fantasy 10 if not better. Lost Kingdoms is a must buy for Gamecube if you like adventure RPG games. I hope this reveiw is helpful to you.

Lost Kingdoms is a RPG card game in which you collect cards that summon monsters. Each monster does a different attack - some just strike with a sword, while others can transform Princess Katia into gigantic wolves or even just stand and attack on their own. Once you use a card though, it's gone for that level, and running out of cards is one of the biggest dangers in the game. The gameplay is good and original, but gets a little repitive and frustrating at times. Although it could be better (in Lost Kingdoms 2, perhaps?) it's still a very good game, especially if you're looking for something new and different.

This game is great. I bought it and din't know if it would be to good. The battle system is great and it is a pretty long game. The only problem I have with it is that you can't go back to the levels you've beaten until you complete the game. Its hard to get some cards that way, but other than that, i recommend tyhis game.

Not very well thought out - Horrible Game,

I give this game a rating of 2 stars, and that is only because of the graphics and sound quality of the game. I will admit that I thought the graphics were pretty good and the sound was nice too. The gameplay was horrible though. Your only way to attack in this game is by using magical playing cards. This was a big drawback for me. It would have been really cool if the cards were used for bonus attacks and specials but not for everything. The one thing that I really didn't like was the fact that you can quite easily run out of cards. If this happens then you have no way to fight. Maybe some of you out there think that this is a cool idea and might like the game but I can definitely say that this is not a game for me.

Okay, I got this at blockbuster and was imediatly adicted (I always am when I get a new game). the gameplay was really good at first, but then I noticed that you run out of cards really fast and there's no way to get them back (Untill you get a cetain card) I found that extremly frustrating.
Also, the controls are confusing at first then easy, after that the actual gameplay becomes confusing, with all the figuring out what card is what just by looking at a confusing picture. This game was really fun but waaaay too short. I had had it beat in under 2 days. Overall though, this game is very good and might last a while if you take it slowly and don't stay up all night playing it (Like me) You should probably get a used one too.

Card game genre hit the gamecube,

This is the best game that no one knows about. It is a card game based (like Magic: The Gathering) RPG. This makes the game very interesting and fun. The graphics are superb (considering 2001 release), sound is okay, and the controls are very intuitive. The game is relatively easy for an RPG, with occasional places of difficulty. The gameplay downside is that levels beaten can not be reentered until after beating the game. This is a great game for both card game and RPG fans and I look foward to Lost Kingdoms II.

An OK Card Game,

Lost Kingdoms is not a bad game, once you get used to the controls. The graphics are not that bad and the music is great. It's not an extensive, thought provoking game. I basically use this as a time killer. The fun really comes in after you've beaten the game (after which you can go through and redo any level to get a higher score and find anything you've missed) and have a full deck. Then when you have multiple people playing you can duel (in a rather small arena). Like most people have said so far, unless you REALLY like card games, your best bet is just to rent this.

Nice RPG, ends to quick,

The gameplay is nice. It was like combining Final Fantasy and the card game Magic. The only bad part is that I have reached the end guy with less than 5 hours of game play. Definetly NOT worth the cash!
