This review is from: The Lost Lamb (Hardcover)
This is a very nice book. I like how the story didn't veer off from the original Biblical version the way a lot of Bible story books do. Luke 15 1-7 is a very important parable and this book presents it in a gentle, Christ centered way. The illustrations are lovely, the story was sweet and accurate. Makes a lovely bedtime storybook for young children.

The colorful illustrations and the light-hearted rhyming carry this book effortlessly along. And, I like how Jesus' words are presented on the last page of the book.

Enjoyable illustration of a familiar parable,
This review is from: The Lost Lamb (Hardcover)
This story is of a shepherd and his one hundred sheep, every one known to him by name. When the shepherd discovers his ine missing lamb, he sets out to find it, no matter how long it takes. At the very end of the story, after the lamb's return is celebrated, the final page quotes Jesus' parable of the lost lamb from the Bible (New King James version).
The text is rhythmic and enjoyable. This really does make the meaning of the parable very clear to a child. At the end, after reading the Scripture account, I added a couple sentences of my own tying the shepherd's behavior to that of our Savior. Nice story that my children (8, 6, 4, and 2 1/2) enjoyed, while helping illustrate an important spiritual truth. I'd recommend this book to Christian parents, though it's unfortunately out of print. I will be getting a used copy of this for my nieces and nephews, as well as checking out other books by this author.
