Book Description

Complacent, asleep, ineffective, hypocritical. However you choose to describe it, the church simply isn't working. In Lost the Plot, you get an in depth look at our failures and what we can do to fix them. Dive into what the Bible says about the early church and take a look at our own churches from the outside in.

Lost the Plot is sure to leave you with a sense that there is more to church than 2 hours on the weekend in an elegant, multi-million dollar building sipping a latte. We have forgotten our first love in America and have replaced Him with love for ourselves. We have lost the plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to basics. The BIBLE! God instructions. July 20, 2012
By Sue
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought the kindle version this morning. I been reading for a couple of hours on this rainy Friday morning. GOOD stuff. I believe and will allways believe following the Holy Spirit. Man is not perfect so trust only in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will guide and direct your paths to what HE wants for your life. It is our resposibility to seek God's word and let His spirit guide us to the needs of others, family & ourselves. Thanks Paul for being obedient to the Lord in writing this book. God bless you. Sue

My husband and I listened to it on my Kindle (text to speech conversion) and we both agree it's one of the most thought provoking books we've read.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 for now, maybe 5 next edition September 1, 2012

Wow, if I hadn't been through a similar set of circumstances I would have thought Paul was being absurdly overdramatic.

The sad thing is, the church (in general) has lost its way. Paul does a good job of breaking down the issues and offering solutions.

I would've like to see more citations or attributions for some of the early generalities regarding problems in the church (if you haven't been through it before, some of the statements seem like sour grapes or holier-than-thou). Adding specific quotes or pointing to online examples would get 5-star rating.

It's good to see that someone is willing to stand up and write about problems, even when so many bury their heads in the holy sand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat Convicting February 4, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I acquired the Kindle Version for free. Now I'm going to get a few paperbacks to share with friends from church to get there perspective. I will then share with a few pastor friends; not to challenge them in their calling but to facilitate discussion and hopefully give them a better perspective of what the Holy Spirit has called them to be. The most challenging point in the book is to stop paying other organizations to do what God has commanded us to do ourselves. Ouch!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not theology, personal opinion March 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The writer obviously has a problem with organized religion and wants to inflict his personal opinion on readers. His solution would limit Christianity to a very small group of people who adhered to his beliefs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good analysis. December 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book opens your eyes to the struggle between generations in our churches today. Paul doesn't only point out the problems but he offers solutions too. A must read for anyone in leadership.
