Can't help - again 5 points 4 NMA!,

This review is from: Lost Songs (Audio CD)
Yet another fine and elaborate opus from NMA including B-sides and previously unreleased tracks. In comparison to other bands that are struggling to fill their regular publications with songs of equal quality, NMA`s huge songwriting potential is again proved in impressive manner. It took some time to get into some songs, so I would recommend uptempo tracks like "Brother" for the first encounter. Lost songs contains some of my favorite songs by NMA: "Trees in winter" - a heartripping ballad and "Knife" a fast poetic hymn to love and life. There's also a brilliant remix of "Over the wire" - highly recommendable. Even "Sunset" - which I first relegated as a rather stranger journey into banjo-style country music - is now running in endless loops in my CD player. Overall a fascinating experience to discover this valley of lost songs.

Why aren't they filling stadiums?,
This review is from: Lost Songs (Audio CD)
I can't figure out why this band isn't huge. All these songs are b-sides of singles or unreleased tracks. Most bands would kill for songs like these. Southwest and Brother are as good as anything they have done. And listen to the words of Brother, about the clash between Islam and Christianity. Justin Sullivan is so far ahead of his time. This album is a must have for any fan of intelligent rock music.

Good Album for an Old NMA fan,

I like this Album, especially the second Disk. Definitely worth the money. The final track, the remix of "Over the Wire" is incredible, and worth the price of the Album alone in my opinion. In general, I don't like remixes, but this one is great!!!

Lost Songs...but great songs!,

Strange that NMA outakes, b-sides, and abandoned tracks are often of such high quality that many times they become favored over album offerings. Such is the case here...there are some tunes on this release that are as good as anything NMA have ever laid down...which is no small feat for a band with NMA's extreme level of dedication and talent. As a double cd import, the price is good given the quality of the material present. Nifty liner notes, too. A very safe purchase for fans of the most important band in the world (I believe.)

NMA is so good that this double album of non-LP tracks, all 22 of them, absolutely blows the doors off of just about any other band around. This collection is filled with nuance, delicacy and raw power. JS and the boys write music that is always melodic, always smart and always elegantly tight. If you come into this set a fellow soldier you will leave confirmed in your loyalty. If you come in a neophyte you will leave a dedicated acolyte. NMA has yet to put out a record that is less than ARRESTING. NMA rules the music world! Long live NMA!
