The stories of the Boston Terriers in this book are really heartwarming. It is wonderful to read about the Boston's lives who were saved by kindhearted, patient, loving people. The antics of the Boston's had me laughing out loud. Anyone who loves dogs will appreciate this book. This book is a real tribute to dogs everwhere. There are so many Bostons in the stories who were really misused, and yet they forgave humans and learned to love their people in spite of all the bad things that had happened to them. These stories are bound to help people to understand that a resuce dog is a great option and that they should take a chance on adopting one. Boston Terriers are certianly a loving breed, and this book helps that shine through.

A true inspirational book. I couldn't put it down. So wonderful to read these heartfelt stories of rescued Bostons.
There are so many wonderful purebred dogs that need forever homes.
IF you want to add a family memeber Please consider a rescue dog.
IF you can't adopt you can support these wonderful groups with donations. They dedicate thier hearts and lives to saving these animals.
Just a wonderful book for everyone . I can't wait for the next one in the series.

I agree, this book has touched my heart and my soul. I was so anxious to get my copy of this book. When I did, I sat down, began reading the many heart warming stories of these rescued Boston Terriers, including the story of Cricket, our Boston Terrier who we rescued from NEBTr. Before I knew it I was at the last page wanting to read more stories of such wonderful adoptions. Many of the stories although sad all had a happy ending. I highly suggest purchasing this book! Not only will the purchase go towards a contribution in helping Boston Terrier rescue groups all over, it will help you come to realize that adopting a rescued 'innocent' will make a world of difference in your life as well. Pick-up a copy, sit down, read and enjoy!

A wonderful emotional roller-coaster of tears and laughs! Immediately engaging and uplifting as you learn more about the devastating effects of "millers", the problem of abandonment, and the everyday heros of rescue and their nationwide comraderie that mend the broken psyches of these dogs who then go on to love and inspire their new families.

I've read the the Boston Terrier, Dachshund and Labrador Retriever books and recommend them all - could hardly put them down. Sometimes I laughed so loud, my own BT's and Doxie turned around to look at me!

I could not wait to get my book and when I did I read it immediately. I could not put it down. I can't remember when I read a book as wonderful as this. Thank you so much for putting it together. I laughed and cried. It makes me understand my Boston a lot better. She is my life. Although I did not get her from a Rescue group, I do donate and follow my local group. I received Fancy Pants from a breeder. After reading Lost Souls I now know it must have been a puppy mill. The book has explained a lot of Fancy's actions which are similar to a lot of puppy mill dogs. I wish I could adopt them all and show them all the love they deserve.

Boston Terriers are one of the three dog breeds that I love most so I was really looking forward to reading about this breed.

The stories in Lost Souls: Found! Inspirational Stories of Adopted Boston Terriers have not only opened my eyes to the characteristics of these dogs (both good and bad) but also gave a better understanding to the behind-the-scenes of all those doggie-in-the-window stores and how, rather than buying a puppy there and feeding those horrible people's pockets, giving one of their `thrown-away' dogs a second chance is such a wonderful thing to do! Most importantly though, this book has been a real eye-opener to the fulfillment and change adopting a Boston, or any other mistreated dog, can bring to one's life.

I always hated puppy mills and dog shops with a dozen different breeds available because of the import, the sickness of a lot of these puppies and the poor conditions the breeder dogs had to live in. Only now I know just how terrible life is for these dogs and how cruel the owners are. They really couldn't care less about their dog once they're not good enough anymore for breeding. It's so sad to read about the malformed feet because of the wire cage, the fear of stairs, cars, people, a fear of just about everything. Poor little things. Who wouldn't want to show them just how beautiful life can be?

All the stories are quick-reads and before you know it you've finished the book but are craving for more happy endings. I am glad that it's a compilation rather than one dog's story just so you can get a lot of possible situations of adoption. Although terrible stories in the beginning it's a joy to read about the love that filled these dogs' lives after they've been adopted. The compilation has been carefully put together and the writing, although from different people, is well-written. The stories from the dog's perspective every now and then made a funny switch after reading a few tearjerkers!

This book has finally made me understand why people would prefer adopting over buying a puppy. I would really like to be able to bring love and joy into the life of a dog who has had only love to give but none (or very few) to get so far. If only for his last days how good would it feel just to show him the best in people?

I can only thank Kyla Duffy and all the other wonderful contributors for giving me a better perception of dog rescue and for making me have even more respect for the wonderful things rescue groups and their volunteers do!

This book is one that touches your heart and will not let it go. We are owners of 2 Boston Terrier Rescue dogs through MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue. We also contributed to a story about one of them, Jace, our deaf Boston, featured on p. 92 of Lost Souls: Found. Having our dog included in the book was wonderful. However, having others share the stories of how they came to be "rescued" by their own dogs was truly a heart-warming and yet tearful experience. We thought we knew alot about mill puppies and rescue dogs. Yet, our eyes were filled with tears as we read the tales of so many "lost souls". We loved every story and learned so much. This truly is a MUST READ for any dog lover. Looking forward to future books from Happy Tails about other rescue dogs of other breeds. Buy 2...one to keep and one to share. A portion of your purchase also goes towards a contribution to rescue groups around the U.S. Truly a win-win situation.

This is a great book for any animal lover. Boston's are such fabulous dogs, and one owns me, but no matter what your favorite breed may be, this book really will touch your heart. Its a quick read and one to share with friends!

This is such a great book, filled with heartwarming and inspiring stories. It brings awareness to the horrible existence of puppy mills, but shows how amazing these dogs can be when given a second chance. I hope it encourages people to consider adopting a pet and giving a forever home to an animal in need.

Lost Souls is a wonderful book about rescued Bostons. I enjoyed the stories very much (and cried many times). I volunteer for the MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue and was excited to see the "tails" of several dogs that I knew (Bill, Winston aka Fargo, and Jace). As a volunteer, we always wonder how our dogs do with their new families. From the stories I could tell that our scared, sometimes sick little dogs have truly found the home they were always destined for. Thanks to all "Forever Homes" for giving these dogs a second chance at life!

If you want to understand the life of a breeder or "miller" dog, read this book. Hopefully it will motivate you to rescue a dog, no matter which breed you prefer.
