This is a delightful, witty, lighthearted tale that entertains both children and adults. It has been a favorite of our 4 children (now ranging in ages from 16 to 26), and we are anxious to buy more copies for our new nieces and nephews to enjoy. The illustrations are wonderful line drawings - no matter how many times we read this book, we discovered more details in the drawings. Even when read every night, the story brought laughs each time. It also teaches many useful facts about music and instruments to the younger readers. Our children were avid readers, and still rate this book as one of top 5 children's books that we owned.
