My previous review of this book was less than positive.
Now, after I've had the time to consider both the author's words and my own, I've decided to rescind my prior comments and offer an entirely new review of this material.
It's still true that the author offers no proof as to the actuality of his story. (Nor does he even attempt to.) However, this doesn't matter much due to the nature of the material presented. The teachings are still important and powerful and insightful whether the personal story is factual or merely fictitous.
After having some time to "sleep on it" and some days to contemplate the basic message I have to admit to the truth of the message being presented here. It is this "selfish, separate self" that underlies the problems and miseries of the ages. The more self focused and self serving one becomes the greater the miseries and problems of life become. And obviously this holds true for families, countries and the world itself.
It is this underlying concept that any valid spiritual pathway attempts to instill in it's membership. Although the message may at time be diluted or distorted due to a number of other factors, it is still present within most world religions.
The teachings here are not always easy, nor are they what most of us long to hear...however, they are based on truth, they are based on the fundemental issues of what it means to be alive on this earth and how we can further our true purpose in living. If your looking for someone to give you a feel good placebo and not disturb your personal slumber then I suggest you look elsewhere. ( I tried this already...yet the truth of the message seemed to lurk behind every problem, every face, daily serving only to confirm what I tried to ignore)
Humility and selfless love is the pathway back to God, back to our true selves, there is no other. As Mr. Peniel and a great host of other voices point out to us the time is growing short. Our actions and our selfish way will have REactions, this is unavoidable. The very earth on which we live may undergo monumental changes in the near future. And we as a species must ourselves undergo monumental changes as well! This book is much more about taking action than just accepting some new belief. It urges us to turn away from endless theological arguments and focus our energies on the basic problems of the human dilemma.
I support this message and hope there are many more who will do so as well.

All that you have been yurning & searching for is right here in the book, in an inspiring format that will guide you to a very real inner strength, inherent wisdom, and ultimately, to true inner peace and freedom, if you want it.

If eveyone wanted to see themselves and change for the better, then this world would be a much better place to be. Right?!

This book rings your inner bell of truth, touches your soul, and if you really want to change, then you will love it. You will realize that you have found your way 'home' to true unselfish love and a better life. I have read other spiritual books but none of them felt so real and true like this one.

I read this book for the first time 4 years ago. I have read it so many times and will continue to do so. It helps me soooo much and leads the way for me; answers my questions. It's truly amazing! I get more out of it each time I read it. This book has totally and positively changed my life for the better. It gives me something real, true and worthwhile to live for. I hope you will read it, finding your path to truth and peace in your heart and soul.

The amazing wisdom in this book, by itself, is worth the cover price, but the meditation techniques make it positively invaluable in my opinion. In this incredible book, Jon Peniel encapsulates millenia of ancient history, spiritual teachings, as well as his personal story of growth in a secluded pre-Bhuddist monestary, now desicrated, high in the Himmelayas.

Interestingly, the area that Mr. Peniel mentions in this book has recently been 'discovered' by National Geographic explorers. Even more intriquing is the omision by these explorers of the ruins of the monastery which, of course, would contradict most of what modern archeologists consider to be true.

The basic principle of this incredible book is that we are all part of a greater whole, sort of like facets of an incredibly-complex and large gem, and that it is only our selfish seperate mentality that keeps us from achieving peace, prosperity, and at-one-ment with the divine. When I say that this volume changed my life, I mean it. I used to be very nervous and preocupied, but studious and frequent use of the meditation methods, I feel, have tremendously improved my life. However, you have to be willing to put alot of time into them, like an hour or two a day. That's not to say that I have acheived the same level as that of the author, it takes a life of devotion to attain such enlightenment as he has. This book also coroborates some of what I've read elsewhere in the works of David Icke, William Bramely, and Stuart Swerdlow.

The Lost Teachings of Atantis is a book of inspiration. Yes, it definitely challenges how we see the world and what we think of ourselves, but in saying that it invites us to look candidly at how we live our personal life and how we can change it in every waking moment. It educates the reader on how to develope and cultivate their own spiritual growth from an ancient spiritual path minus the tapestry of religion, ritual, or division. In its simplicity, it relates to the reader profound spiritual wisdom in a crystal clear narrative about one mans path to enlightenment. I give it 5 stars!

The message (teachings) in this book is so alive and written with such clarity that it brilliantly shines and awakens your inner being. If you are a person whose soul aches for spiritual truth this book will remedy that pain.

Either way, it is bound to help you think about yourself in some different perspectives. It is not a book you can read just once and know yourself or the material therein. Don't find this information for the controversy, find it to re-discover yourself! I am on my second enjoyable reading!

I have read it twice more since this review and continue recommend it to anyone who is searching for a different perspective. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE ATLANTEAN SOUND CD's on their website www.atlantis.to they are the real deal and take holo-sync technology to a personal level. THIS INFORMATION CAN BE LIFE ALTERING!!

I used the meditation techniques explained in the book on my premature born daughter and she made swift improvements e.g., and quickly moved from the NICU.

Three years since originally reading the book, I still read it and learn and grow as I continue to understand the teachings and apply them moment to moment. It actually makes other texts from a variety of sources more understandable...Consider this nonfiction book as an addition to your library.

This book came across my line of sight in the most mysterious and wonderful way a few years ago. I have since purchased another edition. Thank you Jon (miss you!) for coming into this plane of existence and writing this book! I would still be stumbling around in the dark without your guidance. If you are seeking spiritual answers, this book provides them. This book is a godsend to all.

This book is a total life changer! You will not be able to go about living the same way you did before reading this book. I think this book should cross as many hands as possible. People need to read the truth within these pages.
