5.0 out of 5 stars The Magic of Courage June 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I do not read Harliquin Romances, I do not read tear jerking stories. I am a hard core science fiction kind of guy. Right, well I was before I met Debora Geary's Witch Series. Now I await a new release for weeks on pins and needles. Why? Because this woman tells a story about one facet of the human condition in such clear personal terms that the readers will identify with several different characters to the point they are more alive to you then the people you work with. This is the seventh book in a series that should be read in order. Do yourself right and read these books in order.

My Review A Lost Witch

5 stars
This is one of my favorite series of books. I can go back and reread them and be able to enjoy them so much. They are filled with warm, loving characters, some wacky ones, talented, accepting and such a sense of community. A Lost Witch does not disappoint at all.
This is the last book in the A Modern Witch series but not the last book with these characters in it. They will be back in Sept. In Witch Central series.
Debora is spoiling us with a new book out every 3 months or so. It seems so long at times because we want are fix of good clean loveable characters.
If you have not had the chance to read any of the series give yourself a gift and get A Modern Witch book 1.
This A Lost Witch is good. One of my favorite of the series. I think I say that each time. Nell is going to turn off the fetching program and finds two words on her computer Help Me! She calls in her friends and family to help when she realizes where and who is saying that.
Hannah Kendrick is crazy. She can't meet new people if she sees someone new she breaks down and has to be drugged. It is bad. She has been in put in a home for crazy people. Her doctor is trying to help her but they don't know much. Only some ways to help her avoid attacks.
Lauren and Tabitha go in to talk with Dr.Max Torres at Chrysalis House. Max had work before with Tabitha and seen how she can reach out to her patients with a little something else. He is open for them to talk to Hannah if she is willing it might be a really slow process.
Hannah sometimes sees the future. She sees two woman come to Chrysalis house to meet her. She welcomes the chance to have someone help her. She handles meeting Tabitha but when she's Lauren she gets attack and is able to runaway from them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, just wow! June 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is one of her best books. It dove into uncharted territory, steeped in ancient magic. It's a little deeper and darker than the previous ones. Reminds me a little of the Harry Potter series in that respect. I would highly recommend this book!

Several themes emerged in this book that had perhaps been forming all along. One was the theme of interconnectedness and oneness. The theme of love and family healing all is a persistent one. And the idea of labels (autistic, crazy) being totally inadequate persists in this book. Here again we see the dark side of great power.

As I said, the books are getting deeper. I can't wait for the next series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly my favorite in the series June 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've loved all of the books in the Modern Witch series and loved them all dearly. I usually rip through them, but not quite this quickly. This might be my favorite of all of them.

I don't know a thing about weaving and my yarn addiction needs no help but I might need to look into it, now! Or spinning... Those spindles sounded like fun. I loved how Caro's grandmother was called Oma - that's Dutch and a nice touch.

Yet again, it was the community the characters form, together with their kindness and generosity - as well as their flaws - that make me love these books so much.

Oh, and I want linguine. And a trip to Caro's yarn shop. And some of Aarons cooking. And go hear Cassidy play. And to see Aervyn and Kenna grow up. I have no idea what this new series will be, but can't wait to find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great heart lifting read June 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Every Deb Geary book is a gift. A lost Witch is a gift of love, commitment, sharing, caring and teaching. Geary's latest addition to the Witch Central family serves bring the reader yet again into a community of support and love. A Lost Witch takes on the difficult issues related to chronic mental illness, and shows how love, commitment, caring and belief are the keys to healing ills of all kinds. In this addition to the line you see Geary put forth her cunning writing abilities to tell a beautiful story and help educate and teach again about some the issues facing today's individuals living with mental illness. It is a great read, and a great teaching tool for those studying, living with or wanting to understand some of the issues facing individuals re-entering society post trauma or treatment. I highly recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad editing mars a great story June 28, 2013

I've enjoyed this series and was so looking forward to the book. I had to struggle to get through the beginning. I had to struggle to get through the book! Sentences made no sense...when I turned the page, the last sentence was dropped and it picked up somewhere else...characters are in two places at the same time...people teleporting all over with no explanation...and on and on throughout the book. I'm surprised as Ms. Geary is such a great writer. The entire book felt rushed. All these snafus caused a lot of frustration and seriously got in the way of the story. It's a shame because the story itself is a good one. I'm astonished by all of the 4 and 5 star reviews; I must be living in an alternate universe! That being said, I will definitely read future books by this author. I do love this series but someone made an awful mistake releasing this installment without proper formatting and editing. I can't believe I paid for this. It's a real shame, this book should've been a home run...
