About the Artist
When the sounds of Sunny Day Real Estate, No Motiv, Jimmy Eat World, and the Get Up Kids are mixed together, one hears the emotional and driving style of rock that is the unique thumbprint of Acceptance.. Kaylan Cloyd, Chris DeCastro, Pete Pizzuto and Jason Vena comprise the amazingly talented band that keeps its listeners eager for more. Along with this, Acceptance also combines great hooks and technical ability to produce a unequaled sound that draws from its influences.
The birth of Acceptance happened a year and a half ago, when Kaylan left the well-known punk band All Wound Up and Joined Chris, Peter and Jason, who at that time called themselves The Substitutes. With this addition to their trio, the four guys decided that a new name was needed for the band. The switch from punk to power pop rock with a punk influence was original and unlike anything The Substitutes had been known for. They claim there is no special reason behind the name Acceptance, and when asked, the straightforward Kaylan replied, We needed a name and it just sounded cool, I guess its kind of our theme for what we are and what we believe.
Like any good band, the true sound of Acceptance can only be experienced live. The guys have a brilliant performance and have exceptional stage presence. They are comfortable with a audience of any size, entertaining their fans with good music and quick anecdotes between songs. While they played a few empty houses at the beginning of their career, Acceptance has performed at many larger crowd venues with more well-known bands including Arthur, Juliana Theory, and Hangnail.
The things that Acceptance has accomplished recently will fade away as a passing shadow to the bright future ahead. With a national tour coming up this summer and a full- length album for the fall, Acceptance is well on its way to becoming a influential sound of its own.
