MY FAVORITE ADVENTURE MOVIE IN THE WHOLE "LOST" WORLD.......,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie is outstanding, in its attempts to entertain viewers, with masterful special effects and stunning back drops and outstandingly wierd monsters (ape men, giant bees) This is a movie for the whole entire family. It stars Patrick Bergin as Challenger the main character and leader of a crew that goes in search of a lost world, to determine the exsitence of dinousaurs. When they set foot on a forbidden plateu, they enter a world where time has stopped, and nature runs wild. This entertaining movie is better than all of the other "LOST WORLD" movies, and has nothing to do with Spielberg's "LOST WORLD: JP 2" Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel.

Patrick Bergin version 'Lost World' one of the best.,
This review is from: The Lost World (DVD)
Most reviews you read about this movie are actually about a different version of 'Lost World'. Usually the reviewers are talking about the pilot for the series 'Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World' that has the blonde with a perm in it.
I really enjoyed Patrick Bergin's 'Lost World' The confusion is understandable because there were about 5 different versions of Lost World made within a few years of eachother. Even the TV Guide would list the wrong one and broadcast a different 'Lost World' than the one they listed in the guide.

A colorful yet disappointing attempt to capture Doyle's idea,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The color and CGI's are excellent in this film. The location shots are great, and the attempt to capture the late 1880's successful. However, the female character is obnoxious and certainly un- becoming in attitude, language and appearance. While this might be the 90's, and women should be able to handle strong lead characters, this woman, who was the financial backer of the expedition, was disgusting. There have been several major cinematic attempts at this story, but this version leaves a lot to be desired.

Everything's lost in this world, including the plot.,

This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was a really dissapointing remake of the great adventure story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It didn't really seem to follow the original novel other than the names of the lead characters. The plot and scripting are incredibly weak, it seems the editors just stopped mid-movie and rolled the credits there. The CGI dinosaurs' appearances were impressive but their animation was very stiff. In my opinion, not worth the $83 it costs.

This is NOT the movie you saw on TNT!,

This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a common misunderstanding. The version of "The Lost World" everyone saw on TNT is the pilot for the Television series that airs on WGN. This particular movie stars Patrick Bergin as Professor Challenger and the plateau setting is moved to Mongolia. The special effects are so-so and the acting is hoaky. A traditional B-Movie with a surprising amount of violence considering the classic story it's based on. Sort of a jungle set "Carnosaur".

The Lost World the best since the original,

This is the best movie based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book The Lost World. I've seen all the other ones and this is got to be the best one right up there with the original 1925 version. The SFX are the best, just like the ones in Jurassic Park. And the acting is good too. If your a movie buff and want to spend money then this is the movie for you!

This version of The Lost World in a bit darker than the others I have watched. Still, it has been a good movie to watch. It would have been better if it was on a DVD disc. Worth the the money.

The lost world is the best since the old lost world,

This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is very good. Just like the special effects. It is the greatest since the old Lost World. The directors did a wonderful job. When I first saw this on TNT, I was like going, "Wow". Then they show it again. I saw it the second time, and at the end, I was wondering how would they get home, would they die? Or would it continue on another video? My guess is that the team will somehow get home, but the old guy might die.

Sir Authur Conan Doyle's Lost World,

This review is from: Lost World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
i saw this for the first time on TNT. It was not a bad movie at all. I had never seen it before and thought it was a copy of the Speilberg epic at first, but found that it was different. the film was a good film but it seemed to be like Zena a little bit. I would still recommend this to other movie buffs. Why is this not out on DVD yet? I would like to see this while I am waiting on Speilberg's version to ever come out.......
