5.0 out of 5 stars The single best album ever produced?
I don't know what it is. I can't quite put my finger on it. Something about this album has completely stolen my heart - I can't get enough of it. I didn't think I could ever love an album any more than I love Radiohead's "Amnesiac", or Weezer's "Pinkerton", or Frank Black's "Dog in the Sand". However, "Lost at Sea" completely takes the cake. The songs are perfect...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre
Cb's new album is nothing to good to rush out and buy. although they have some excellent songs the rest are missing something. They aren't really that punk anymore, the chords are weird sounding on some songs. the previous album was bodacious although somewhat repetitive, so if you want a CB album get the first one.

The songs are perfect. The performance is perfect, the production is perfect. The melodies that permeate this beautiful beautiful album are heart-wrenching, life-changing, and inspiring. The genius of Ted Bond should be considered one of America's national treasures, and I am completely serious. Craig's Brother has completely taken my breath away - I can't get enough. It has been more than a year and still I prefer this single masterpiece to any of the hundreds in my collection. The most amazing part is that every time I listen, I notice something new, and every time I listen, I appreciate the record more and more. It will never grow old. It is always growing on me and it is my all-time favorite possesion of all time. Pure genius. This is not a punk rock record (not that there's anything wrong with punk rock), but rather, this is a rock record. This is what Rock and Roll is all about. Unique, amazing, energetic, and magical. Honestly, I think that this is the most important album since Abbey Road...

5.0 out of 5 stars So, so good, September 16, 2002
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
I picked up three albums a while ago and sorta expected this one to be my least favourite. However the other two (and all my other albums for that matter) haven't been getting much airtime since -- you just can't get sick of this amazing album. I bought it after having heard "Back and Forth" which is an amazing song (how many punk/emo bands use a full orchestra?) with very relevant lyrics. This isn't the only brilliant song though. "Glory" has truly thoughtful lyrics about war. "And the bombs start falling / tight fists of rage hurled searching for sanity in such a crazy world" - I also love the soaring riff in this song and the marching-drum bridge. "Lost At Sea" is a seven-minute epic with a truly memorable lyric and harmony. Although all the songs are great (no filler here) several others stand out - "Lullaby", "Masonic", and "Falling Out".

I haven't heard Craig's Brother's first album, Homecoming, but I don't think it could be better than this. Buy this if you are into punk, alternative, or emo at all...it's a crying shame the band broke up...

5.0 out of 5 stars Check 'em out!, April 1, 2002
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
Craig's Brother was one of the best new bands I've heard on the music scene in years. The second of two albums, (three counting the demo tape,) Lost at Sea shows the band's growth since their last album. No longer as deeply entrentched in their "punk" roots, their sound has developed a more "emo" feel. Now you can detect threads of not only punk, but old 80's punk, with the occassional splash of prog rock riffs. These guys had more melody than half the bands out there. Clean sound, clean lyrics. Almost poetic themes. A band you won't be ashamed to let your parents hear. I highly recommend them. Unfortunately, Craig's Brother recently broke up. This one will be a highlight in your music collection!
And if you're goin through CB withdrawls, I recommend you check out Something Corporate's album Leaving Through the Window!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Punk CD, August 16, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
Craig's Brother is without a shadow of a doubt, the best punk band at the moment. Not because they are the most famous or most "punk", but because of their amazing depth and sound. The vocals sound alot like Pulley and even Lagwagon. The best part about this CD is that each song has different dimensions. Some songs have dramatic shifts and tempo changes and it works perfectly. My favorite songs are "Masonic", "Divorce", and "Back and Forth". Every song on this CD rocks, even the slow ones. With Craig's Brother it's not about playing punk but the best music they can. It's strange how Craig's Brother can be so great of a punk band and still maintain values in their lyrics unlike many other punk bands. This is my favorite CD of all time, buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Craigs brother, the name irratates me but other than that., July 21, 2003
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
When i heard of Craigs brother i stupidly assumed they where another typical new poppy punk band but there sound seems to differ they have the pop-punk element there which sounds good and similar to Lagwagon (which is probably why i have taken a likeing to them) but the music is actually very well wired and it's a cd you can listen to without skiping a track and lyrically it's also very impressive so for a new band they are good and are worth taking the time to see or to buy there albums. Is also like the artwork on the front thats pretty smart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds Good, November 1, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
I've only heard Head in a Cloud, and that is one awesome song, so I believe that I'll like the rest of this CD. I have Homecoming, but it's a little repetitive, but I'm sure I'll love this one. These guys could have been a great MTV band if they didn't break up! Get back together and make some more killer music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Band!, October 25, 2002
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
It's such a shame these guys broke up, because they didn't record enough. This cd is absolutely amazing. Every song is great, especially "Glory" and "Divorce". They write great lyrics, and their sound pulls you in. You absolutely must have this cd. I would recommend it to anyone, whether they listen to punk or not. Everyone can appreciate them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Excellent, October 7, 2002

This cd is awesome, though very different from Homecoming. It is much less punk, much more mature (I'm not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing). Shows the incredible range of the Craig's Brother crew.

5.0 out of 5 stars A phenomenal CD, March 30, 2002
By
This review is from: Lost at Sea (Audio CD)
The music that these guys create is brilliant, their lyrics are brilliant, their lead singer has a unique voice. They have everything needed to make the perfect band, which they are.
"Lost at Sea" is truly a great CD and is definately a must have.
It is a CD I have played over and over and it doesn't die.
This album is not as "punk" as Homecoming (great CD aswell) and is much more mellow, but in certain ways it is better.
I cannot say which song is the best because they are all brilliant. I hope this is a band that sticks around for a long time. Craigs Brother are undoutably one of the greatest bands around.
Order "Lost at Sea" NOW!!, you will not be dissapointed.
