J.M. Jefferies and Dyanne Davis joined forces in the latest The Lotus
Blossom Chronicles: Book 2.

Elle Walker is a goth computer whiz. In fact, she narrowly escaped a federal prison sentence for hacking. In Dirty Little Secret, by J.M. Jefferies, Elle must face her biggest challenge - two weeks with her parents. She arranges to take a date with her. Someone that she is sure her parents will not like. However, Merrick Lee, the half-Chinese, African American redneck whom she thought she had hired, is handsome, charming, intriguing and everything her parents like. He also excites her in ways she is too scared to face.

In Continental Divide, by Dyanne Davis, Social Worker, Tanya Reed, is dedicated to her job of finding suitable and safe homes for all of her kids. When her newly married friends, Heaven and Harrid, invite her to come for a visit in Pakistan, she jumps at the chance. Tanya devises a plan to meet and marry one of Harrid's millionaire brothers. Instead she meets Imran, his writer/school teacher cousin. He is arrogant, sexy, and everything she does not want. Yet, she wants him more than anything.

Both stories were very entertaining to read. In Jefferies story, readers watched a wild child mature and accept a man that was her equal. I really wanted to read more and hated when the story ended. Davis' character was self-centered, rude, and in many ways unlikable, until she was tamed by a man who had similar tastes and desires. I enjoyed both stories; however, I noted that there were many editing errors in the advance copy I was given. All in all, true romance lovers will be pleased with this edition of the Lotus Blossom Chronicles.

Dirty Little Secrets by J.M. Jeffries:

Continental Divide by Dyanne Davis:
Tanya Reed is trying to corral her feelings of discontent. She is a social worker who places children in foster homes, and its getting harder to be impassive about her young wards. Her dream is to open a house that would provide an oasis for the kids. And while Tanya's intentions are exemplary, her methods are a bit unorthodox. Her best friend recently married and moved to Pakistan, Tanya visits her hoping to marry any one of her millionaire brother-in-laws. She does not really want a husband, just a sponsor for her project. But when she arrives in Pakistan she comes face to face with a cousin who is not rich, but who sends her libido into overdrive. Her plans are in grave danger, but is that a bad thing?

THE LOTUS BLOSSOM CHRONICLES is sexy, sensual and invigorating. It literally takes the heroines out of their narrow comfort zones and makes them take a good look at themselves. Readers will applaud how the women grow and will exhale with each of them.

As a fan of the first book showcasing Heaven and Hamid, I was thrilled to find out that there was a follow up to their story. In "Let's get it on" Heaven and Hamid's story had magic and passion and everything about their relationship was believeable. Unfortunately I could not say the same thing about the "Continental Divide" portion of the book. This story was about Heaven's best friend Tanya who was introduced in the first book. Tanya is a Social Worker who wants to earn money to fund a housing project and to also take care of a loved ones 6 children. Tanya's character was crass, low-class, and insensitive to the culture of Pakistan. She flew out there in the hopes of snagging one of Hamid's millionaire brothers as a sugar-daddy husband to provide the finances for her goals. That in itself was degrading but on top of that was the way she carried herself in front of the men in Pakistan. She was flirting with Hamid shamelessly ( if I was Heaven I would've put Tanya in her place about that)and she developed an early sexual relationship with her future intended Imran. Imran is Hamid's cousin. Imran is a writer and does not have the money of his richer cousins. Imran is very different from Hamid. Hamid was intelligent, romantic and had alot of respect for Heaven. Imran is a smart-ass who thinks he is God's sexual gift to women. The only real connection I saw between the two was the fact that they are both very physically-driven. Throughout the book Tanya keeps talking about Imran making her wet and Imran keeps talking about Tanya's glorious buttocks. It is really juvenile. There is also alot of print typos and grammatical errors and sometimes it becomes annoying.

I wish that this story was written better and that the characters were better developed. It could've been magic if it didn't feel so rushed.

I found this book by accident. I mainly bought the book for the sequel story by Dyanne Davis. This was my first time reading J.M. Jeffries.

I have to say I enjoyed the story (Dirty Little Secrets) by J.M. Jeffries more. The characters were funny and I really liked them together. The male lead totally won me over. I really did not know what to expect but wanted more when it was over.

The next story (Continental Divide) by Dyanne Davis was a bit of a let down for me. I so LOVED the title characters from the other book (Let's Get it On). I was hoping to fall in love with this couple's story but it never did click for me. The story actually had me feeling that the couple was missing a true connection. When I finished the book I went back to re-read (Let's Get it On). I suggest getting the 1st book (Let's Get it On) and reading it before this story to understand the magic of Heaven and Hamid. They are part of this story too as friends.

J.M Jeffries and Dyanne Davis have 2 great and hot stories in this book. Dirty Little Secrets is about rebel daughter Elle Walker and her some what twisted way of doing things to get under her parents skin. She plans to go home to their re-commitment ceremony and the planned announcement that her Dad is making to run for Mayor. She chooses a date that she feels will irk her parents even more but finds that her plans do not pan out. She finds that her parents are not the stuck up people that she thought they were and finds that her chosen date is more her type than she expected. Great story and the ending is wonderful. Will make you want more when it ends.

Dyanne's story 'Continental Divide' is about Tanya Reed a social worker and friend of Heaven in the story 'Let's Get It On'. She goes to Pakistan to visit Heaven and wants her to fix her up with one of her husband Hamid's rich brothers. She feels a rich husband will be an answer to her wishes and plans to help foster parents and foster kids have a safe and loving place to live. Instead she falls for his not so rich cousin Imran and fights it and pushes him out of her life because she doesn't want to burden him with all her drama and keep him from his dreams of getting his books published. Tanya finally realizes that true love is more important than riches but did her decision come too late? This story is amazing and you will love it from the first page to the last.
