Vegan. Natural. Kosher. Exotic. Imported from Bhutan. Great nutty taste. Can be used for Sri Lankan cuisine or other dishes which call for red rice. This item had been "Out of Stock" for many months. Still had three packs in my pantry saved for special occasions. Have thought many times to visit Bhutan, especially when I was in Kolkata [Calcutta], but just never made it there yet. This rice has mostly replaced brown rice for me. It is nutty and cooks in under 30 minutes. The rice is a great color and looks (and tastes) great next to dal. Check out the pink Madagascar rice that amzn sells from Lotus foods too.

I love this rice becasue it cooks in less than an hour and is full of flavor. It is a great substitute for brown rice, adding a different flavor and texture to recipes. It is also delicious on it's own as a side dish.

VERY pleased with this rice! I had never tried Bhutanese Red Rice before. When I saw it in a local market I was very curious but also put off by the price. I have a Prime membership and was delighted to see that this product was available for free 2nd day delivery. It was a much better deal than buying it locally and the rice is delicious!

Fantastic rice. And if you learn about Bhutan, this is the type of country you want to support. Whole grain, great taste. I only wish it came in larger packages so that you could save a bit on bulk.
