1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth the Rather Considerable Price

I've been programming in Lotus Notes for about 8 years. I have a heavy-duty interview coming up and thought it might be a good idea to just prove to myself that I know what I should know. This book -- a waste of paper and ink -- was really, really not helpful. First of all, it's a very slim volume (not much content to begin with) and second of all the content that is included is all over the place -- administration, programming, user settings. My advice: save some money and buy a regular Notes book. This is a waste.

Why this book is unique:

IBMCOOKOOK readers have a need for information they can use right
now. And our series of IBM interview questions books is an answer to
that need for instant information. Our books are written by IBM
practitioners and expert authors who have varied and vast experiences in
the world of information technology.

Rather than focusing on comprehensive, textbook-sized or voluminous
reference guides, IBMCOOKBOOK includes only the information that can be
used immediately by the reader in their job search or IBM career. In
this regard, the books are much shorter, and this is the overwhelming
preference of our readers. Rather than providing more information,
our books focus on providing the right information.
IBMCOOKBOOK Interview Question books can also be thought of as "cook
books" in the traditional sense in that they provide the reader
information in a very concise and useable manner, not unlike a recipe. In
this way we hope we serve our readers by saving them time - by helping or
readers understand what is important, and what they can safely ignore.

For instance, you might find our books particularly useful for gaining
knowledge and understanding of a completely unfamiliar area of IBM. By
skimming the table of contents and index, you may quickly understand the
most important aspects of a particular area, and also have access to the
accumulated knowledge of our expert authors. It is the unique "Question
and Answer" nature of the books that make them so valuable.

It can be said that, "If you can't find the right answers, maybe you're
not asking the right questions..." Our books not only help the reader
understand the answers, by providing explanations where applicable but
also provide the right questions. Our books also include code listing and
command references which set them apart - and keep them close at hand at
work rather than collecting dust on the shelf.

Finally, IBMCOOKBOOK books are published with several goals in mind which
we believe set them apart from other sources of information. Our mission
is to provide the reader with timely, useful information that will
increase their technical literacy, increase the awareness of careers in
information technology, and challenge our readers to question the status
quo. All of our authors are IBM professionals - and we know that our
books offer a great deal of value to our readers - we hope you find them
as useful as we do!
