5.0 out of 5 stars This is a SUTRA, not a "chant"!, December 27, 2004
This review is from: The Lotus Sutra (Bdk English Tripitaka Translation Series) (Hardcover)
This isn't the best English translation of the Lotus Sutra, but at least there isn't any footnotes telling you to chant "nam-myoho-renge-kyo, as that is the "essence" of a Sutra that is over 300 pages long!

The translation by Burton Watson is a bit more accessible, ut perhaps THIS translation is a bit more sensitive to Buddhist terms and style. But if you have to choose only one translation due to budget constraints, then I urge you to get the Burton Watson translation of the revered Lotus Sutra.

Now go and eat dinner!
