New to Lou, and love him!, April 19, 2008
My husband recently introduced me to the world of Lou Grant, and I must say it is so refreshing to see a show which addresses real issues, without all the other sex and foul language that shows of today seem to need to get ratings. I only wish that more of the seasons were available. I'm hooked now, and want to see more!

Oh, if only they'd release this series on DVD, May 26, 2005
This review is from: Lou Grant:Vol. 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Having worked as a reporter, I consider Lou Grant the best television representation of the actual press. This first episode establishes the series and introduces its themes, namely press ethics. It's entertaining and mentally engaging. We can only hope it will see a DVD release.

Good story about person in transition from one life and job to another. Story complete even if you don't know where the main character has come from in his past life and the former comic series (Mary Tyler Moore Show) to a drama which capitalized on the investigative journalism made famous by the real life Woodward and Bernstein of Watergate.
