This review is from: Lou Reed/ John Cale: Songs for Drella (Piano Vocal Guitar) (Paperback)
shortly after warhol died, lou reed and john cale collaborated on what was originally intended to be a 'requiem for andy warhol', but the sensitivities to warhol's death forced a change in title to 'songs for drella', andy's nickname, to avoid using the warhol name, everyone was so uptight and paranoid. it's an excellent small opera about the life and times of warhol, bad times, good times, and work times. it's a little brechtish (a good thing)with a really thoughtful libretto and a hard/soft rock sound. definitly a worthy product. get the video if you can.
