for all the people who want deluxe version of louder I can say this it's on amazon.de (germany) in mp3 form. But no cd format exsite anywhere! The only version I found was a Japanese import with a bonus called to find you! i'm very mad at Columbia records for not releasing a deluxe edition of louder like when we thought they would! I suggest we & lea's fans (leanatics) from all over the world send emails to the company of Columbia demanding one! p.s: i'm going to optimistic & hopeful when lea tours with the album there will be a deluxe version. if not...well do what I just suggested! i'll be listening to those songs of on youtube for now.
This is the kind of nonsense that has me furious at the record companies and purchasing less cd's. It seems like the companies would want to show fans a bit of respect and release all of the music at once, on all formats, and in all countries. For example, Teenage Dream by Katy Perry was originally released with two options in the US - one was the "deluxe" edition and I suppose the other was the standard. I purchased the "deluxe" thinking I must have the complete album. Surprise! About a year later, the record company adds a few new songs and releases "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection." I refuse to buy it. I also resent having to look around at Target, Best Buy, Amazon, and the other vendors to see if one of the stores has a version of a cd with bonus tracks unavailable elsewhere, and heaven forbid I decide to start looking over all of the imports to decide if one version is better or "more complete!" The industry is going belly-up, and I don't think it can all be blamed on format changes. Operatic Mickey, there is a good chance they will release a "deluxe" cd version now that all of Leah's fans have already purchased the album once. They are greedy and treat their loyal customers like rubbish. This concludes my rant. Thank you for your patience in dealing with the mentally unhinged.
Well you have to at this rate(meaning hearing the songs on yt)! omg thank you for the info about there maybe a deluxe edition of louder! i'm not really big on mainstream pop music only like a few people like Madonna, kylie Minogue to name a few. I like artists that people don't notice like jade Valerie(fomer singer of sweetbox! the new one sucks now.) Natasha st pier(French pop singer) & sarah brightman. have example too! sarah's lastest album dreamchaser was suppose to be realeased on jan 22 but it was a Japanese import with a bonus track called Kaze No Torimichi from anime tor. there are 4 editions of the album. anyways I brought first one was cd/dvd with 11 tracks. the other one was target with 2 bonus tracks. Japanese version I brought on amazon.uk.com & because they all have the same album name I now have 14 tracks all together! Madonna only had imports for Ray Of Light,Music,Confessions On A Dance Floor, hard candy & mdna. I have iTunes but don't buy from them anymore cause they want money! so i'm buying cds in physical form. I think iTunes needs be more worldly with musicals from other countries with artists names(not the composer's name!)performing the songs. i'm very sorry about your experience,i hope this doesn't destroy your love of music. p.s: i'm not big on the news because i find it boring to wacth! So i wouldn't know about the music industry "going belly-up!" as you put it.
Hope I didn't give you the impression I knew that there was a deluxe version in the works for certain. It frequently seems to work that way nowadays, so do keep your eyes open. Thanks for the info on "Dreamchaser." I didn't realize there were four versions, but when I ordered "Fly" there were so many versions I about gave up. I suppose you have "Symphony?" That is my favorite. At least it has been recently. As for music sales; cd's seem to be nearing extinction and even downloads are down 15% this year. The only segment of the industry to show any growth the last few years has been lp's, believe it or not. I've tried to explain to my daughter how we use to listen to records in the olden days. Now stores are stocking them again and she knows what I mean...
actually...i'm huge sb fan! I've been a fan of sarah's since I was 13 yrs after hearing the phantom of the opera highlights recording. she made me love opera & have almost all of her albums(dating back from 1988 to now)& a couple rarities of hers. I know they're about five versions of fly! now why five different albums? i'm going to rule the first one cause it's a lie! 2nd one of fly is the one I own of time to say goodbye with andrea bocelli. 3rd was 1997 re-realeased but it's the 96 one!. 4th version called Fly-II in 2000(while sarah was touring la luna, which is ultra rare & the one I don't have!) Having 1st disc is being fly(96 version) & 2nd is full rare tracks having like desert rose, how can heaven love me,he moved through the fair & on the nile. which you buy on her singles if you're lucky. I was very fortunate to get them! the 5th is a Japanese import in 2006 with a bonus track from fly2 album called Do you wanna be loved. I think the ones two versions fly from 95 & 97 should deleted from amazon & go buy the 96 version! if you have it already. the most wasteful Japanese imports were for dive, surrender & the Andrew llody webber collection! Do you find it strange that the phantom of the opera by alw hasn't had a production in france!? cause i've been trying to find an answer & gotten nowhere! please don't give me the line about the French hate musicals. I want a real meaningful answer! Oh I've notice that lp records are still popular! I have records myself. p.s: another thing I found interesting is that sarah brightman & linda eder are both still friends with their ex-husbands Andrew llody webber & frank wildhorn(another favorite of mine along with linda!). musical theater in u.s isn't great anymore. I've notice it for a while now since 2010 when people decided to bash love never dies! the only place for musicals left in Europe! I can't wait for Rebecca to come to broadway of winter 2014!
No you didn't give the impression about deluxe louder by lea. I thank you for the encouragement though! Actually...i'm huge sb fan! Operatic Mickey - So sorry it took a while to respond. I have health issues. You made some very interesting observations. No, I did not know that none of ALW's productions and been mounted in France. I have no idea why, and it seems a bit odd. I have to agree, more or less, with your statement about musical theatre in the US. I don't know much about what is happening in Europe, but I did read this article you might find interesting. I am not computer savvy and didn't know how to link this, but here is where to find the short article. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/08/theater/musicals-couldnt-be-hotter-off-broadway-by-7000-miles.html?_r=0. Maybe there is hope in places other than New York and London. I looked through my cd's and the newest Cast Recording that I had was "Wicked." I didn't realize that I didn't have anything new because I have continued to purchase cd's, but they have been older recordings like "The Wiz." I have also wondered about the relationships of Ms. Brightman and Eder with their exes, but I would remain friendly with either to have them continue to perform my music! I have more cd's by Sara, but I have several by Linda and they are both very talented. Which reminds me, I am considering purchasing "Love Never Dies" based on your recommendation. I listened to the critics when it came out and I didn't get it. I don't know why; my favorite ALW musical is "Aspects of Love" which was not successful at all. Still, I personally think it is brilliant. So nice getting to know you...
i'm sorry to hear you're ill:(I hope you make it out okay! the only musical of alw has been done in france is cats(which I own for awhile now.also have the italin version of cats)! evita only had a single in French Don't Cry For Me Argentina by petula clark. oh I liked you to know that Disney's beauty & the beast got a French production & buy out the country to keep my interest in musicals alive! andrew's lastest musical Stephen ward which I brought last year at amazon.uk.com cause the one in u.s was releasing in 2014! that show closed in London 3 months ago. there's not very good reviews in the u.s for ward so i've been trying to do a review on ward but keep distracted by others things like buying more cds(of new & old musical recordings & artists I like!),anime, opera & attempting to get my writings shown on ff(fanfiction). thank you for info though about musicals in Seoul, south asia. I love wicked the 2nd best musical. also have the German cast recording I brought from amazon.uk. brightman & linda are very talented. you better buy love never dies with the dvd cause that the one I have & also did a review on it. please read it when have the chance or comment! the only musicals I don't like by alw is jesus Christ superstar(except I don't know how to love him.) & joseph and the amazing Technicolor dreamcoat(except any dream will do). love sarah's recordings of them btw! aspects of love is beautiful show but I don't like ann crumb's rose, sarah is way better vocally & emotionally. i'm so mad that it didn't last on broadway cause of the Persian gulf war. did you know there were plans for aspects of love musical flim with sarah playing rose in 2005?! but it was shelved:( aspects got reworked & revived in London of 2006 & was success. what about sunset blvd. that was a brilliant show I only have the London recording with patti lupone as norma. p.s: i'm so sick of seeing fameous movies as musicals now forgive for saying this but leagally blonde was a funny musical but the rest of them are so blah! another thing i've discovered is there's not much comedy in musicals. except for gentleman's guide to love & murder & bullets over broadway. I hate to ask this... can you tell what your gender is? i don't mean to pry or anything i'd just like know who i'm speaking with. i know the net can be very dangerous these days... it's nice to getting to know you as well. p.s: I do know frank wildhorn has gotten away with murder in south asia cause he staged a musical called tears of heaven(which we'll never see here in the states due critics not liking his shows!) it's beautiful show. another composer I like is maury yeston i've all his musicals on cd along with December songs. lastly is benard j taylor omg his musicals are wonderful wuthering heights, nosferatu, much ado & pride & prejudice. he's most ignored musical theater composer in u.s!
Hi Mickey, Thank you for your concern about my health. I have enjoyed visiting with you and hearing about some of the Cast Recordings and other cd's I should check into. You've also mentioned a few composers I am now anxious to learn more about. You seem very informed about what is going on in a number of countries. Do You travel around a lot? I wondered if that was how you keep up. I read your review and I liked it, but was tired and didn't comment. I also came across a comment of yours where you helped someone by providing information. I just kind of thought it was cool that I recognized you... I am male and it doesn't offend me at all that you asked. I also have the London recording of "Sunset Boulevard." It was a tough call because I thought they were both good, but I thought the London version with Patti LuPone and Kevin Anderson was better. I also agree with your statement about movies being made into musicals. It seems like producers are less willing take a risk to come up with something original and prefer to go with something that already has name recognition and a built in fan club. I don't know if I am being fair because many Broadway plays have been turned into movies and I am not nearly as critical of that...
hey! you're welcome. my answer is no I don't travel the world...it's mostly the internet & youtube. thank you it means so much to me when I wrote that review it was a defense for lnd I couldn't take all the negative flack about it with the reviewers on amazon. Well somebody had to defend it! there's a book called phantom of manhattan which was slightly insperied for lnd. what comment was it on here or yt? you're talking about the one with glen close...I heard on yt a long time ago & didn't like her performance of norma. The originators are the best! but not all the time... I mention how I didn't like ann crumb's rose from aspects of love. i'm glad somebody agrees with me! I've heard really great classics movie as musicals like white Christmas & singing in the rain they didn't even macth up to the movie itself! sister act omg how could Goldberg give that show her blessing! it's awful! I also wacth theater talk on tv & the net(in case I miss an episode.) my lastest cast recordings were killing Rasputin(yes, there's a musical about that but didn't last in London for very long. which I might be my next review cause there's nobody reviewing the product!),prettybelle(1971) & song of Norway(1944) to name a few. also like musicals that people don't know, hear about anymore or just disappeared from view. speaking of original musicals there was a show called smash that focus on a musical about marylin Monroe it showed the trials & drama creating a show along with people whose lives revoled around it. it only had two seasons unlike glee! don't get wrong I think the show was good(I wasn't into when it was at the hype of it's fame. stopped watching it due to how bad S4 but did wacth tribute ep to cory the actor who played finn.) but liked smash way better! I join this group called don't cancel smash! on facebook created by a guy who's been trying to get back on tv!
p.s: if you were speaking of broadway musicals as flims i'll give you a list of ones I liked & owned on dvd. 1.Gypsy(1992)- with bette midler playing mama rose. That started the trend for musicals being shown on tv! I have two recordings of that show with bernadette Peter playing the role in 2003 & Ethel merman the original mama rose from 1959! lupone was awful playing it. no offense.
2. Evita - omg what a great brilliant & beautiful musical. I have only three recordings the movie with Madonna(I saw the movie years ago on tape I rented at blockbusters. later wound up becoming a fan of hers in high school!) also have is broadway cast of 1978 with patti lupone & mandy patinkin. last was the concept album with Julie Covington playing eva. it's very different due to it being more operatic which evita is an opera! from later recordings I just mention above. I didn't buy the new broadway recording of evita in 2012. I plan to make up for that mistake!
3.Les miserables (2012 musical flim)- omg they finally got it right...that movie was awesome! all of the cast was great expect for crowe as javert. I have five recordings of that show!
4.The phantom of the opera(2004 musical flim) - my first book, musical & flim on dvd. I thought it great at the time but while I was doing my senior project(4 years ago) & my internet skills I don't like it as I did then. because of the choices & mistakes it's made! I do apperatie the exposure it did for the show unlike rent(05),dreamgirls(06, I hope they let the director's cut version on dvd soon!)& sweeny todd(07)
5. Sweeney todd - the demon barber of fleet street (2007) - yes I had to mention it. I love the original recording in 1979. I had one in 1982 on dvd years ago but it wasn't the same cast(except for two main leads)& threw it away. the movie only cut about five songs & recitatives about sweeny. I thought the movie was done very well! despite the reviews in the states but the u.k loved it!
6. Mamma mia - a great movie only dropped two songs on the soundtrack were Chiquitita & Waterloo. chiquitita in movie was kinda bad I love the original & London cast recording mama mia. so if they did like the movie I wouldn't have burn it on iTunes then. but the song they really should've put on the soundtrack was waterloo it would have been great to end the cd! My only dislike in the movie & soundtrack was the winner takes it all. French live cast recording did streep's version. I loved the London cast recording along with the original & jade's version from sweetbox! Sweetbox is band that has smaples classical music into pop song form! i'm very glad to be helping you futher your interest in musicals. also happy to know you're a guy & i may give you recommendations the next time you reply back to me whenever you're better.
