4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars; Typical Storylines;
First there are several stories in this first volume. There is the one described on the back, the second couple is a about a pharmacist and the wrong "medicine" given to a client, the third is again two friends and about lunches, and the fourth is about the head of security and his young master.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, I like the last story
4 stories here and not much depth. For once I am glad it turned out to be an anthology as the main story, supposedly a series, is just average, at this stage anyway. I thought the second story on a pharmacist and his customer is pretty sexy. The one on 2 childhood friends expressing their love through cooking for the other is again average but kind of cute. I thought the second story on a pharmacist and his customer is pretty sexy. The one on 2 childhood friends expressing their love through cooking for the other is again average but kind of cute. My favorite is the last one on an orphaned rich kid and his hunk of a bodyguard which thankfully has 2 chapters. So like Robbie says, some may be uncomfortable with this one but this is Yaoi. And I always enjoy a cool and aloof seme hunk to the rescue of his defenceless uke. LOL!

First there are several stories in this first volume. There is the one described on the back, the second couple is a about a pharmacist and the wrong "medicine" given to a client, the third is again two friends and about lunches, and the fourth is about the head of security and his young master.

The two stories on the friends are typical school boy romances. The pharmacist looks a little young to be so and a reader might get a yuck factor because of that story. What really might get the yuck factor going is the fourth couple. It's obvious that the uke (young master) is youngish and the security guy is much older so if you don't like youngish guy/man pairings you might want to skip this manga or just not read the last story.

There are several somewhat explicit graphic scenes, enough to justify the mature rating at least. Over all I liked it, but thought it somewhat average. One issue I did have is the use of the word, "thingy". Better just to say "it" or use some other reference.

The actual manga is only 170 some pages long and Tokyopop (Blu) is still using the less than good quality paper, though it is not tissue paper thin that I think some have complained about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really cute, April 10, 2010
This review is from: Loudest Whisper, The: Uwasa no Futari Volume 1 (Paperback)
I picked this up for a friend and decided to read it beforehand. I thought it was rather amusing, though there were so many different stories. It was really funny, or so I thought, I will definitely pick up the next one. But if you dont like hardcore yaoi, then this is not for you.

I bought this book for this girl, and after she read it she let me read it. I was under the impression the whole thing would be about the story on the back. I was wrong. So I was about done when I realized it was a collection of stories. It could've at least let the reader know that BEFORE you spend your money on it. Also, like the last person who reviewed it, the use of the word "thingy" didn't seem to fit at all, and kind of ruins certain parts of it.
