Chris Daniels and the Kings are the whole package! Rhythm, blues, funk, swing and Reggae, they can do it all. And this CD truly defines their talent and inspiration. It's a 'must have' addition to everyone's CD collection!

Although the title might make you think that this is a garage-rock recording, the title in fact actually refers not to the venerable garage-rock song but rather to three venerable gentlemen named Louis: Armstrong, Jordan, and Prima (maybe the recording should have been titled Louie Louie Louie...). Daniels and his gang have been performing this kind of music since well before the neo-swing craze, and on this recording they add a nice dimension to the sound by employing the fiddle of Sam Bush on several cuts. With fun cuts such as "If You're So Smart, How Come You Ain't Rich?," "Sure Had a Wonderful Time Last Night" (done really well--a highlight of the disk), "Ain't Nobody Here but Us Chickens," and "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby?," it's hard to listen to this disk without cranking it up and singing right along with it. By the way, the disk is HDCD-encoded, and the overall sound quality is pretty good, with that curious mixture of close miking for voices and distant miking for the instruments that is probably the best sort of studio compromise for this kind of music.

Chris and the Kings pulled it all together for this disc. Without a doubt their tightest music to date. Jump Jazz is the theme of this recording so if you wanna dance and tap your feet, this is the album for you. Chris wavers from smooth crooner to raspy seduction and the horn band paves the way and cleans up after the party. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this disc!
