All three segments of this DVD are entertaining but I was most excited by the third part with the Eddie Condon band and Wild Bill Davison, Cutty Cutshall and Peanuts Hucko. In my teens I was enthralled with this group, would 'jam' along with them on their Commodore recordings on my trombone. Never expected to ever see them actually playing. It was an absolute treat.

I will buy this DVD just because I really like my cousin's music. Eddie died before my Dad could get me to meet him, but I have seen a TV tribute that Eddie Condon played and kind of hung back in the shadows. I have many music CDs of Eddie Condon's and enjoy that style of jazz. It is very upbeat. One of my favorites is "Midnight in Moscow". So I am very interested in acquiring some DVDs with Eddie Condon included.Kathy Smith |
