I have wanted one of the ghost chairs for so long and couldn't afford one. So I finally decided to buy a reproduction because according to the reviews they were nice.
I received my first order and was so angry about how scratched it was. Amazon sent me a second chair.
I received my second chair and it was very disappointing again. The chair was not protected enough, the arms rub against the side of the box and were scratched and dull again. There was sticker residue on some spot and another sticker placed right on the acrylic. And there were scratches on the chair in places where it had been wrapped in bubble wrap.
Whether or not it is Philippe Starck, you expect a brand new chair to come unscratched. When I took the chair out of the box, my husband asked me if I bought a used one? It didn't even look new.
My mother has the real version of the chair and it is definitely not as nice. THE CHAIR IS STILL WAY OVER PRICED.
Amazon's customer service has been great in helping me deal with this issue.

When I saw a picture of these chairs I knew without a doubt they were the chairs for my dining room. This seller had the most reasonable price. They were packaged with recycle in mind and arrived in excellent condition. I Am happy with the transaction and blissful to have the chairs.

I just received my chair and it also has an imperfection or chip on the back of the seat. I'm trying to determine if I should roll the dice and return??

I am so disappointed! I had high hopes for this chair, but it arrived with a 4" long chip in the back as well as many scratches. I am also noticing several small pockets of air bubbles in the material. Bummer! One would not notice these defects without getting a close-up view, but they are definitely there and I am requesting that my money be returned. I am wondering if I should have splurged on the real thing.

When I go the chair the packaging was pretty decent i thought...the box was huge and plenty of cushioning via paper & bubble wrap- until i noticed the 3 inch long scratch along the back edge of the chair seat. I was prepared for this from the other reviews...but still i was kind of disappointed. i had been researching this chair for a while...about 5 months and finally found one i could justify. i knew i wouldn't get the actual $400+ one, but the cheapest "ghost chair" or clear chair i found was at IKEA for $99, and it looked like a plastic kid's chair. so i was happy i found this. anyway, other than that scratch...the chair looks pretty amazing. i figure instead of going through the hassle of returning it, and possibly getting a replacement with a scratch in a more noticeable area, i'll just stick with this one. i mean, it's on the edge, you can't really notice it, and i've waited so long...i've done the back & forth return thing and i know it can get tricky bc you never know if you're actually going to get something better. and like the other reviews said- it's IS acrylic, lol.

My husband's mouth fell open as I pulled this chair out of its well padded box. I joked that I hadn't been able to see the sofa when lying on the couch, so this was the solution. "It's Plastic", he gasped. And yes it is...acrylic. Be very careful dusting it as this quality of acrylic will scratch. While it isn't the Phillipe Stark version, it's a great side chair, adapts to any environment, and is perfect for small rooms! Very well packed.

This chair is so pretty sitting in my dining room. From a distance and walking by, it makes my room look so chic! I wish you couldn't see the mold seams in the arm rests but overall, it is very sturdy, more than I expected and comfortable to sit in at the table. Thank you for a great product!

The chair is strong, sturdy, and comfortable. It's a beautiful addition to any modern home. I would've never bought this type of chair if it wasn't made out of acrylic. The material is what makes it so modern and cool. Great price for the same look as the expensive ones! This a must buy!!!

I was designing an apartment for the Llanfair Retirement Community in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Hollywood theme. I needed a chair for the vanity in the bathroom. The Louis Ghost Chair was the Perfect Fit because it was comfortable, had arms and because it was clear acrylic, it did not appear bulky, which left the bathroom looking spacious. It was a new product and arrived in terific condition. I was on a tight budget and the Amazon.com price made it affordable, too.

I have a small house but an enormous love of mid century modern design. This chair is perfect in my front room. I was somewhat hesitant to have a chair like this shipped in the much-colder-than-normal temperatures we've been having in the midwest. However, my fears were unfounded. This chair was wrapped so it wouldn't get knicked or scratched. I was very impressed with how quickly it arrived also. I was so pleased with the vendor and the transaction, I'm seriously considering the purchase of a beautiful, low profile sofa, they have through Amazon.
