Well presented and illustrated biography of Newton,
By A Customer
This review is from: Isaac Newton & Gravity (Oop) (Science Discoveries) (Library Binding)
I was looking for scientific biographies for young readers. This book and I presume the entire Scientific Discoveries Series fits the bill. Its brief (32 pages) but substantive. Describes the 3 laws of motion as well as mentioning in a sidebar his priority debate with Leibnitz about the discovery of the calculus. It has a nice glossary and is well illustrated. Also has a 2 page chart about the world in Newton's time. Probably appropriate for third graders (maybe second) and up. I only wish there was a paperback version so that i could afford to buy the whole series.

Wonderful Book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Isaac Newton & Gravity (Oop) (Science Discoveries) (Library Binding)
I think it was very helpful. It had things about other scientists, artists, or astronomers at that time, and it also had pictures of his experiments. It helped me learn why he was important. He discovered not just gravity, but also other things, like how light is not pure, but made out of different colors.I would recommend this book for people who like science or history. I think everyone should read it. |
