One added benefit of these levelers is that you can extend the ladder and easily rotate the ladder on one foot into position.

After years of putting pieces of 2X4 or other wood scraps under my extension ladder to try and stabilize it, this product was the answer I had been looking for. The jointed feet are part of the real benefit since the ground can be any shape and angle and the jointed feet adjust to a stable position - not the case with other stabilizers that can move only in one plane. Seemed a little expensive at first, but this product really works great. Money well spent. Shipping packaage a bit flimsy so check for all parts if the box is torn etc.

Just bought a 32 ft Werner extension ladder. I live in Tennessee so I needed levelers. To use the Werner levelers you have to cut the bottom off the ladder. All the reviews said the were solid but installation appeared to be a problem.

These: just unbolt the ladder feet, then clamp these on and drill four holes per side and bolt them on. Spent a little time making sure they were in the same place on both side and aligned with rails. But took about a half hour.

The Werner model looked more OEM. But these have the feet mounted on ball joints so they swivel in all directions. Make the Ladder very solid and stable . Highly recommended.

These were half the price of the Werner.

Mounting the levelers to your ladder is a little work, but most anyone could do it; all you need is an electric drill & a few small wrenches.

It makes using a ladder on uneven ground much safer, and much faster. Start with both levelers in the up position, set your ladder up where you want it, and then reach down (or use you foot) to push the leveler down on the side of the ladder with the foot off the ground...your done. The latch on the levelers only prevent the feet from moving up, they can be pushed down very easily without using the latch. Also, the latch that holds the foot in the extended position is shielded on four sides so it is almost impossible to accidently release it.

They are well made, sturdy, and easy to use; my only regret is that I didn't give up my 2x4 and C-clamp fix for uneven ground sooner and buy these levelers.

This easily added device turns any extension ladder into a friendly tool. The 2 leveler pieces easily bolt to each side of the ladder, having to only drill 4 holes for each side. The necessary hardware for mounting is included with the package. I was able to install the levelers in about 15 minutes. Once installed it only takes a simple adjustment which can be done with simple hand pressure, to level your ladder. The long legs on the levelers allow the ladder to be used on extremely uneven ground. Even when the ladder is fully extended, it is very sturdy and very secure with the large 4" square feet. I would recommend this to anyone who uses an extention ladder. No more blocking, for a perfectly level climb.

As a remodeling contractor I need tools which have maximum utility and which hold up--no fuss, no muss. These ladder levelers are installed on all of my ladders, and I couldn't live without them. They are simple and effective and greatly increase the safety of ladder use. Maybe once a year I'll give them a squirt of silicone lubricant to keep them moving smoothly. Highly recommended.

I bought a set of these in order to use my extension ladder on a stairway (my aluminum extension ladder is also a Louisville). Come to find out, if you install both extensions, the extra width created by the extensions on the sides of the ladder makes the ladder too wide to fit on standard stairs (to get both legs of the ladder firmly on the treads of the stairs). I had to remove one in order to make it work. The product works good as far as the mechanics. On my particular ladder (& probably most ladders), I needed to drill holes in the aluminum sides so you should be prepared to be able to do that or have someone do it for you. It's not difficult with a good drill & sharp bit. I'm female and was able to install them on my ladder, myself, in about an hour. Putting the bolts in to attach them takes longer than drilling the holes, actually. I would suggest using wrenches rather than pliers because you will be turning the bolts on on the inside of the ladder sides. I was thinking that it was too bad they didn't have wing nuts or some other manner of more easily connecting them to the ladder so they would be easier to take on and off. All-in-all, I'd say this is a decent product for the money and did work for my project. I was just surprised that, with both installed, the ladder was then too wide to fit properly on the stairs. If you have wider stair treads such as a curved staircase, for example, you probably wouldn't have the problem I encountered. For a location with an uneven surface, such as outdoors on a slope or something, these would be the perfect solution.

I looked at several of the various ladder levers and concluded this was the best value for me. Installation was on a Werner 20' aluminum extension ladder. The stock feet unbolted (must be removed) easily and after drilling 4 holes on each leg of the ladder all that's left is to bolt on the Ladder Levelers. The kit includes longer bolts for wood ladders and shorter bolts for aluminum ladders. Total installtion time was approximately 35 minutes. Adjustability is easy and infinite (as opposed to discrete increments). The additional weight to the ladder is reasonable and not objectionable at all. Plus I like that I could remove the Levelers (put them on some other ladder) and reinstall the original feet the ladder came with to restore it to original condition (but that depends on the particular ladder you have).
Furthermore the product is very sturdy with the feet measuring approximately 3.5"x3.5" which is greater area than the original feet that came on the ladder.
I would definitely buy these Ladder Levelers again.
