This is a great bat. Although I got it on ebay for much less and brand new. I was very close to buying here. I got lucky on this one. The bat works fine. My son swings away with it. He still feels a little bite from the ball but has pretty good control over his swing. I have watched kids hit over the fence with 30$ metal bats so, don't let those silly fathers out there tell you that the composite makes the batter better. Believe me its all about practice. I think that the composite gives good value for a youth bat. For one, you can buy a bit of a bigger bat that will let your child grow into it, with little handi cap. Second, because of the nature of the bat you tend to take better care of it. Third your child will be proud to swing it, and getting them swinging is half the work. I have found that with my son, its rarely what he can or can't do, it's what he will or won't do. For the extra thirty dollars the bat cost me. Two seasons of good batting was worth it, even if it was all in his head.
