This is a wood bat which is nicely balanced and well-made. 48 ounces is just right for my HS players---they can swing it like a normal bat, but heavy enough to strengthen their hands/arms. My players like using it. You can hit balls off a tee with it, or wiffle balls, but NOT pitched baseballs.

Looks kind of cool in yellow and black---easy to keep track of it.

My only dislike is the price---a little steep for a weighted bat.

I got this bat as a training device for increasing my bat speed and feel it is a great value and ideal for a bat speed training program. I have a net and tee set up in my basement and hit 100 balls a day (50 left handed and 50 right handed) in the off season. At my age (67) I am now only playing softball, and this has helped keep my bat speed up so that I can still hit the 'long ball'.

Because it is end weighted, it will throw your arms further away from your body endangering the ligaments and tendons in your shoulder and compromising your swing mechanics. Greater bat speed is developed by swinging the bat closer to the body. Notice how ice skaters will bring their limbs in tight to their body when they want to rotate faster. The same rotational principle applies to the baseball swing. This product makes the bat fly away from the body--casting-- slowing the bat down and promoting an arm bar with the lead arm. Because the bat is heavy, when you go to pick up another bat, it gives one the illusion that the normal weighted bat is much lighter and that you are swinging faster. A better choice for developing strength and promoting good mechanics is the Heavy Bat, which puts most of the weight in the handle but is much heavier overall at 70 ounces. It helps develop the muscles in the abs and low back while maintaining good mechanics, though it is significantly more expensive at about $200. It is much sturdier too. I purchased one and am happy with it. I'm not willing to compromise my body or my swing.

I ordered this bat to get stronger and to help me swing faster. This thing is perfect for that. It is shaped like a regular bat but much heavier and longer to make me stronger. I would only recommend this for tee work and soft toss not live pitching/batting practice. Since it is shaped like a regular bat the handle seems very weak compared with all the weight in the bat head. The bat would probably snap if used on live pitching. I also like the colors, nice and bright. I looked all over the internet for a longer heavier training tool that was still a real bat. This was perfect for what I wanted and I would recommend to anyone who wants to increase bat speed.

This bat is great to use off the tee. The only problem I have is intitially it was advertised as a 34". I use it for High School players. It is a bit long for them but they can choke up.

If you are planning to play highly competitive baseball this is perfect for T work and flips and toss.. the bat speed gained by using this regularly will pay off in homeruns...
