I have been on pilgrimage in Lourdes and I thought this DVD really captured the spirit and history of Lourdes and the feeling of a person on pilgrimage there. It was like a coming home for me watching this DVD.

Lourdes is perhaps the most famous of all the shrines to the Virgin Mary from medieval times down to the present day. Every year it attracts thousands of pilgrims to France, but Lourdes is not about spectacular "miracles". Rather its central theme for the Christian community is that of inner healing. The focus of Lourdes is on physical and spiritual healing, recollection, prayer, and inner peace. Lourdes: Pilgrimage And Healing is a superbly produced, 40 minute, full color video documentary that begins with recounting Saint Bernadette's account of the apparitions of Our Lady to her by the River Gave in Lourdes in 1858, including the four messages given to her. Then the presentation captures the daily spiritual rhythm of Lourdes including the Procession with the blessed Sacrament, the Way of the Cross, and the torchlight procession. Interviews with pilgrims give witness to the deep spiritual meaning of the experience of Lourdes. Lourdes: Pilgrimage And Healing is an ideal introduction to, and explanation of, Lourdes, as well as the true and deeper meaning of pilgrimage.
