About the Author
Born in Terhan in 1925, Dr. Payan developed ambitions to succeed dispite all odds. In 1952 he left Iran to study medicine in the United States, and ever since has considered this country the ideal place to be. Eight years later he became an American citizen, a licensed physician, and a board certified pathologist. Between teaching medicine as an associate professor at medical schools and directing a laboratory in a hospital he did extensive research on various aspects of pathology and authored more than 65 articles in professional journals. Today he lives in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
