Editorial Reviews

What happens at the Louvre Museum when it is closed to the public? During the Grand Louvre extensive renovations, the museum opened its corridors to a film crew for the first time. People are seen moving paintings and reorganizing rooms. Miles of underground corridors and galleries cross each other. Little by little, the secret, and sometimes comical, mundane, sublime and fascinating world of one of the most famous museums in the world is revealed. A veritable city within a city opens its heart to us.

Being an artist, anything about the Louvre and its collection interests me, and this behind-the-scenes documentary is as entertaining as it is informative. This will change your perceptions of the art gallery world completely -- so much goes on there in so many different fields of endeavor, I ached to work at the Louvre after I finished watching this DVD.

This "film" has some great footage but no narration of any kind and would have benefited from more direction. I had no understanding or clue about what I was looking at or why. It could have easily been saved with some narrative, storyline, topics, chapters, really anything that would help pull it together.
