Editorial Reviews

Detroit-area born, DC-area based musician Zo! and rapper/singer Phonte of the group LITTLE BROTHER join together for Zo! and Tigallo Love the 80's, a collection of 80's cover songs. The duo started collaborating back in 2006, starting with their take on Joe Jackson's classic "Steppin Out." Afterwards, they recorded and released covers of Toto's "Africa" and A-ha's "Take On Me" to both critical acclaim and fan approval. With nine solo projects to his credit, Zo! has also worked with a number of artists including: Slum Village, Asheru, Kev Brown, Platinum Pied Pipers, and Little Brother. In addition to Zo's production, the duo also reached out to Bay Area producer Trackademicks and Foreign Exchange boardsmith Nicolay for additional remixes of their covers. 2008.

First let me say that I might be slightly biased as a longtime Little Brother fan, that aside, this album is a nice breath of fresh air. It's not exactly Hip Hop but more R&B mixed with a little Pop and alot of people are going to rag on Phonte for only singing on this album and not rapping but I'll say that it's actually a somewhat solid effort this time. I liked how Phonte knew how to fall back a bit to give way to more powerful vocals of Darien Brockinton and Carlitta Durand. It's classic nostalgia for those in their late 20's and up. I also liked how Phonte let a litte bit of "Percy Miracles" out in this album. Give this album a listen and for pete's sake.. go head' and do "The Carlton" nobody's looking!

Great Throwback February 25, 2009
Great trip down memory lane me and my wife just sat back and took the ride. I am a huge little brother fan but this is a very good cover of most of the songs. Grab this quick because you can't find it anywhere!!! A must have for late 20's early 30's.
