Lymbyc Systym - Love Your Abuser Remixed, February 3, 2012

The post-rock duo Lymbyc Systym meets a bevy of remixers on LOVE YOUR ABUSER REMIXED, most of whom are simpatico with their own leanings. The One AM Radio gets the horns to jitter on "Astrology Days," while The Album Leaf go mellow and titchy on "Fall Bicycle," though that's no surprise, really. Most of the remixers stick to their particular niche: Bibio has the looped folk that has served him so well, while Eliot Lipp takes a hip-hop beat to "Pittsburgh Left." Daedelus also takes a hip-hop approach, with a vocal bit that echoes through most of "...So We Can Sleep." Lesser-known remixers also make their mark: "Love Your Abuser (This Will Destroy You Remix)" enters full-on shoegaze ambience, while "Rest Easy / Age Kindly (Back Ted N-Ted)" brings back the beats and 8-bit synths. A nice package.
