More About the Author

I am the author of several historical romances, time travel and fantasy books in paperback and have now published my first thriller on Kindle, BORROWED TROUBLE.

I have also published an uncut original version of my paperback time travel historical romance for Kindle, A LOVE FOR ALL TIME. When A LOVE FOR ALL TIME was bought by my publisher Zebra, it was too long for their Heartfire line so I had to remove an entire subplot involving the heroine's sister. Happily, the subplot has been restored and Summer and her sister are re-united.

Some of A LOVE FOR ALL TIME is true. Many of the characters really lived in Deerfield MA, including Elizabeth Hawkes and her husband Col. John Hawkes. In fact the prologue is largely biographical. I did have the mystical connection to her when I stood on Elizabeth's grave. Years later, when doing the genealogy of my family I discovered I was related to the Hawkes.

And now, I have written my first thriller for kindle. BORROWED TROUBLE. It takes place in the NC mountains. I have read a lot of child in jeoardy novels in my lifetime, and chose that genre for my plot. The topic is so timely, what with so many children being kidnapped in today's world and my heart goes out to all parents of missing children.

I have also included the plight of the red wolf in my story. An animal close to extinction. How do they fit into a missing child story? You'll have to read Borrowed Trouble to find out."

I recently got the rights back to all my books, previously published by Zebra. Unfortunately, I had to re-type the whole manuscript of ROSEFIRE because the disk it was stored on was somehow ruined. Believe me, it was no easy chore, but it was well worth it. I fell in love with my story all over again.

The subject of ROSEFIRE is close to my heart. It is the story of Mary, Queen of Scot's secret daughter. My father was a first generation American, his father James Stewart having immigrated from Scotland. And I'd like to think that somewhere back in time, a Stewart ancestor was related to the Scottish Queen. Originally, her name was spelled the same way as my father and grandfather. The spelling wasn't changed to Stuart until Mary married the French King because there is no w in the french language.{I'm trusting my memory on this, hope I have it right.}

Needless to say, I made Queen Elizabeth of England one of the villians in my story. After all, it was because of her signing the death warrant for Mary, Queen of Scots, that she was be-headed.

I am very proud of the way I depicted the beheading scene in my book. The details in the scene are the way it really happened and it is a pivotal point in my story.

Eventually, I'll have the sequel to ROSEFIRE on kindle, but, you guessed it, it also has to be retyped. But, meanwhile, if you don't want to wait to read the sequel, there are many copies of THORN OF THE ROSE on Amazon, just type in the title and you will find used copies of it for sale for very little money.

I have recently added two more time travel books to kindle. The first, BEYOND THE CALL,is a novella length story that takes place during the Civil War. Besides time travel, there's a ghost or two in the story and a very ingenious method of time traveling.

Also, now on kindle, WINTER'S BRIDE another novella length time travel story that takes place in New England in the 1600's. It has elements of the fairytale BLUEBEARD in it when the heroine finds a a mysterious locked door in the hero's cabin.

THE ENCHANTING, is now a kindle book. While not a time travel, it is most definitely a paranormal romance. Actually, it is an adult fairytale involving a half-fairy female and a noble knight returning from the crusades. I let my imagination take me to a whole new sensual level and although I don't read or write erotica, this story is probably close to being considered erotica.

I have very recently turned two more of my previously published books into kindle books, ONE SHINING MOMENT and its sequel THE HEART REMEMBERS.

While formatting ONE SHINING MOMENT for Kindle I was pleasantly surprised at how well I fleshed out all the characters. I consider myself a plot person not a character person, so I was happy to find out I can be both.

ONE SHINING MOMENT revolves around Osceola, the Seminole Indian leader. Although he is not the love interest in my story, he is very important to the plot and I have included much of really happened to him in St. Augustine, which is where I live.

There are two sets of lovers in this story and I couldn't tell you which pair I like the most. They are all people I would love to know.

THE HEART REMEMBERS is a very original and unusual sequel to ONE SHINING MOMENT. However, it stands alone as a novel, as well. It is the story of an author who has written One Shining Moment, believing the plot to be straight from her imagination, only to find out it is all true. She goes back in time and meets some of the characters from her book.

It was great fun to write and I even gave the heroine my last name to make it all the more fun.

Right now, I'm working on another time travel book that starts out in Salem MA during the witch trials of 1692 and ends up in modern day Salem. Yes, my heroine is a witch.

In another life, when I was doing crafts, my very first sale was to the witches museum in Salem MA. I sold them a whole trunk load of kitchen witches that I had made. Come to find out, when I did my genealogy, I found out I was related to two of the accused witches, and one of the girls who accused them.

No wonder I'm fascinated with time travel.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ!!!!!!!!, November 20, 2005
This review is from: A Love for All Time (Zebra Books) (Paperback)
This book is the most romantic love story. It has time travel and sensual love scenes. A co-worker recommended this book to me and I ended up finishing it in 2 days. It is a definite page-turner. I recommend this book to anyone who has the slightest romantic side because it will make them melt and be begging for more. This book turned me on to Sandra Davidson books and made me wish she wrote more. WARNING start this book on a Friday night because you will not be able to put it down!

2.0 out of 5 stars A Love For All Time, March 8, 2009
This review is from: A Love for All Time (Zebra Books) (Paperback)
This book is about a modern day (1993) woman who supposedly falls in love with the history/portrait of John Hawke while working at a museum. A man long dead from the 1700's. Summer ends up traveling through time after touching John Hawke's sword. The book iself has a lot of action going on and is farely fast paced and interesting in that regard, however, I did not believe in the "love across time" of the two main characters. The author did not flesh out their relationship in my opinion, and out of all of the characters in the book, the two lead characters spend the least amount of time together. I felt like part way through the book, the author forgot she was writing a love story for John and Summer, because she threw in long lost brother,Caleb, who Summer then slept with and became engaged to. It was never apparent to me,why Summer contantly ran from John (who she was supposed to have loved like no other) when she had no ties to that time period. To me the conflict of the lead couple was contrived and not very believeable.
