More About the Author
The St. Petersburg Times calls Henley "The Queen of Steamy Romance."
Kathe Robin, RT Book Reviews says: "Henley's gift for bringing remarkable women to life in colorful, turbulent times is what turns her romances into keepers. Henley heats up the pages with her love scenes, and her skill at portraying actual historical personages with humanity while maintaining historical accuracy wins our minds. Henley knows what historical romance is all about and always gives the readers what they want."
Henley says: "My hero is always dark, dominant and dangerous. Then I create a woman who is a match for him...or more than a match!
Men come up to me at conferences and thank me for writing my books. One man said, "I don't read them, but I always know when my wife is reading a Henley!"
My last book The Dark Earl is now available in a mass market edition and is the third in my Peers Of The Realm series following The Decadent Duke, and The Irish Duke. The fourth and last book Lord Rakehell will go on sale in November.
I have just turned two of my backlist books into Kindle ebooks. Wild Hearts and Bold Conquest are historical romances. My novella Hot As Fire, also available on Kindle, is my only contemporary. I have a short story up on Kindle called Letter of Love that is always FREE. I also have a historical novella ebook called Love And Joy.
I also have a new ebook that is a Southern family saga that has never been in print. MASTER OF PARADISE tells the story of Nicholas Peacock who is disinherited of his title and wealth in England. He sails to Charleston, South Carolina, and starts a cotton plantation just before the Civil War disrupts everyone's life.
As well I have an historical novella A Rough Wooing, set in the Scottish Borders that has never appeared in print.
I am presently writing a scandalous Regency novella.

person with no choices and DECIDED to lure the "Master" into bed to get power/money and to be able to make choices. OF course she fell in love with him
in the process BUT her original thinking made me less attracted to this heroine. She came from an upper class family but father was killed in Reformation and when Charles became King--the property was not given back to the daughter of the original owner who'd given his life in fighting for Charles!
The child (called wild with controlling ways and tantrums) did have real emotional problems but INSTANTLY with almost NO exceptions, she turned around after
meeting this new governess. TO me after two daughters and one granddaughter (and knowing people) this was just not right. No child would have completely
changed all her bad habits because of good treatment. She should have had some slip ups!
I thought I'd bought a book but it was very short and I felt like they just STOPPED---the villain of the piece was thrown out of their house BUT
nothing was done by hero to avenge the villain's actions. Just not true to life!
I enjoyed the story but there were a few 'bumps". I would say all in all it was fun reading if you SUSPEND DISBELIEF.

Not one of her better works. Story was ok and predictable. The Love scenes were mild and lack luster. Loved the child's character.Published 10 months ago by Shopper in Austin
Ms. Henley is a favorite author. She captures the settings of the story and people of the time to perfection. Read morePublished 21 months ago by Marge
This was good reading for a short quick story. Not as historically in-depth as some of Mrs.Henley' s other books.Published on January 23, 2014 by Meltripco
