I adore Aberfeldy. Their fey indie pop is mesmerizing and can put a smile on your face. Here is a cut from their excellent debut album `Young Forever' and as the title implies, its all about love. "Love is a thing is a thing I can't describe. I'd be a fool if I even try... love is a verb and a noun as well, you can find it in the dictionary under L" and so on. Its cute and it gives me shivers.
The other tracks are just as good. `Your own Trailer' has Aberfeldy's trademark fiddle and shuffling beat. But the real gem is the very catchy Go-Between-ish `Tom Weir'. Its a totally throwaway pop song about an alcoholic indie kid and comes with a complementary `hic' and a xylophone solo as well. The whole thing is ended by the slightly annoying and charming `On the Peninsula'. All in all a very satisfying 12 minutes that will make your life sunny.
