A well-crafted story...,
By BMAR (Northern USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: To Love A Ballantyne (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Author Kimberley White crafts a well-formed tale based on two fully developed characters - Kirkland Ballantyne and his love interest Cassidy. Having met briefly in the home of Kirkland's in-laws, these characters are drawn together in a powerful way when Kirkland happens upon a traffic accident in which Cassidy is trapped in a car on the verge of giving birth. Having participated in the delivery of Cassidy's daughter Courtney, Kirkland feels a strong draw to the baby and her attractive mother.
In this book, Ms. White offers a nice mix of romance and drama. Both Cassidy and Kirkland have their own personal demons to face, as they try to build a relationship together. The additional dramatic elements introduced through each of their individual stories, as well as the relationship issues they are dealing with, including the fact that Cassidy is nine years older than Kirkland, add greatly to the intrigue of this tale. I haven't read the first book in this series (Only in My Dreams) that focused on Kirkland's older brother Greyson, but that didn't affect my ability to follow the storyline and thoroughly enjoy the interactions between the main characters, as well as their interactions with their family members and friends. I am eagerly looking forward to Chevy Ballantyne's story. It is sure to be a good one!

This is my second read from this author about the,Ballantyne boys. Cassidy and Kirkland's story was great, she the older woman by nine years and he the younger man fell in love with one another. Cassidy was in a car accident, when Kirkland came along to the scene and had to deliver her baby, he gets to know her and the baby whom she name Courtney after him, and they fall in love despite problems from both sides of their family. I love how Cassidy stuck by Kirkland's side through every situation he encountered, even when he was wrong. In the first book, i loved Kirkland's sister-in-law Sutton, and felt sorry for the pain she went through with her first husband, but in this book the way she was acting made me really dislike her, she had no right to hold against Kirkland what her husband did to her. I was really proud of Kirkland in this book. I look forward to the next Ballantyne, "Chevy".

This was a spectacular sequel to the first novel on the Ballantyne men. The first novel was great this one was spectacular. This was written with a little more passion and vigor than the first novel pertaining to this family. I can't wait for the next on for middle brother Chevy. If Ms. White keeps this up I will definitely have to go out and purchase her past novels.

I could not put this book down! The first novel in the Ballantyne series was good but a lot of the diologue was old fashion and it was hard for me to like Greyson. Kirkland's story was great! I can't remember the last time, if ever, I have read a romance novel where the leading man was this young but I loved the concept. I hope Chevy's story( the final Ballantyne brother) can top it.

A debonair and rich man tormented by his best friends decisions and indiscretions. Kirkland Ballantnye wants to prove and redeem himself to so many people but something or "someone" always gets in the way. In comes Cassidy with her own issues to deal with.
Cassidy and Kirkland are an unlikely combination for reasons revealed in the story but they work. The courting is different and is something I can't recall reading before. Kimberly White does a great job of taking the reader through several emotions. As I say in all my reviews get the book and draw your own conclusions. I wasn't disappointed and I dOn't think you will be either. One more note it was an easy read and not redundant at all, in my book that is a plus.

To read out the sequels..........,
This review is from: To Love A Ballantyne (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kimberley White is a good author,(here comes the but...)in my opinion, she's still growing or needs to. The story of the ballantyne men are a sequel of books and they are finding their soulmates, each with their own read, in this one it's Kirkland ..I was disappointed that kirkland was still in the grips of losing a best friend, and Cassidy Parents didn't accept that she had a baby out of wedlock. It wasn't one of my "forsake everything to finish.." read. I just want to finish the sequels with the B-men. but I did give a four star, so I'll say it was enjoyed???.

(Platinum Reviewers Rating 3.5) Young Love,
This review is from: To Love A Ballantyne (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Kimberley White introduces us to the youngest Ballantyne brother who has been known to be reckless at times but to also be a momma's boy but when Kirkland finds himself grieving his best friend's death he also finds himself falling in love.
Cassidy Payne was a cover designer for books when she decided to have a child she finds herself alone and attempting to be a single parent but when the problem escalates and her family divides between it she continues to strive to make a better world for her and her daughter but when Kirkland inserts himself into her world she finds herself falling in love with a man who is younger than her but reminds her of who she is. Kirkland Ballantyne always looked out for his best friend but when he finds himself in the middle of a sticky situation and he isn't to sure of himself he finds himself causing division in his family and before he can make anything right he has to confront his demons but not before he finds himself falling in love and get captured up but can he fall in love with so many problems surrounding him. Everyone around them questions their love but they strive to bring it all together. Kimberley shows how lies and deceit can cause divisions in families and relationship while also showing how the closeness of a family can offer answers and love. |
