This recording is really my favorite CD right now. Having seen it during its run in NY, I was afraid that some of the charm of the show would be lost without the visuals. I am happy to say that I couldn't have been more wrong. The music is fun and walks the line between pop and broadway unlike so many shows recently. And what a nice change to hear a modern pop score that isnt overamplified and all hard rock all the time. The lyrics, though, are the best thing about this CD. In the theater, it was sometimes hard to take them in, and here you can hear every one. Any show that speaks about friends with benefits, rebound time, and that chinese restaurant on the upper west side with the free wine is all good with me. Seriously, if you are a musical theater fan, you will love this album. I know I do.

This is a great album. It's well scored, well sung, and well recorded. You can listen to it over and over again just for the catchy tunes, but I really recommend taking the time to listen to the lyrics. They're often laugh-out-loud funny, but manage to carry a lot of insight too. If you've ever been in a relationship (good, bad, or otherwise), you'll certainly hear things on this album that ring true. This is the kind of album that'll be a staple in your collection for years.

I saw this performed live and it was phenomenal. The music will keep your feet tapping, and the lyrics are clever and absurdly funny. Behind the humor is a lucid take on love in the 21st century, surviving life in the big city, and stealing free wine from an all-you-can-drink restaurant. This show has a distinctive style and I highly recommend it.

I think Salzman and Cunningham have done a bang-up job with the "I love you because" recording... The story seems like a scene from my life, as a single girl living in NYC. I thought the lyrics were smart and witty and so many moments were highlighted beautifully by this delightful score. I'm hyped to see what this team puts out next!

It's such a beautiful off-Broadway musical, and can be applicable to just about anyone's life. Whether you're madly in love or just getting over a break up, whether you're young or old, the characters and story are relatable.

This show is very charming. The only negative thing I have to say is I am getting sick and tired of getting CDs with broken jewel cases from AMAZON.COM!

I enjoy this show. I think that it has a lot of charm and many of the songs have joyously addictive qualities. (I, like many, think this show is worth owning solely for the title song "I Love You Because".)

Perhaps something is lost from stage to cd, but I wouldn't say I think the show has been perfected quite yet. I consider it a bit of a "beach read" of a musical. Fun and worth having around, but not a masterpiece.

The biggest complaint I would have is actually the vocal quality in a couple of the performances. Certain performers have vocal tones that, though unique, can also be too much at times even distracting from the cleverness of the lyrics and writing. I also think that a few of the songs seem obviously less polished that the very lovely and witty pieces that have been mentioned, and rightfully so, in other reviews.

However, I would say that this show is worth a purchase. It's one that I love to have in my car for a pick-me-up or a good laugh.

This musical hits every high note for 20 and 30 somethings looking for true love. I enjoyed every song and could relate to all of them from some point in my life. A definite gem in my musical collection.

What a surprise! This cast album is fresh, exciting, and simply wonderful. Every song is fun and touching in its own way, though the authors tend to end a lot of their songs in the same style. But that's being picky. This is one of the best Off-Broadway show I have ever listened to. Very cute!

A fresh new musical with an original score, now on my playlist for good. This 2006 off-broadway show incorporates humour with some strong messages about love, you get the humourous songs (We're just friends) and you get the love ballads (maybe we just made love) really a show id recommend to anyone. Favourite tracks include:
