5.0 out of 5 stars A well researched, fascinating follow-up to previous work.
Having lost a son I have great interest in this type of information and have read dozens of books on the subjects of life after death and after death contact. They range from feel good to wacky, with some truly imaginative theories offered for consideration. This book is a thoughtful piece of research which grew from a need to verify previous experience. 3.0 out of 5 stars Needs to go deeper
For a lay person, Love Beyond Life represents a great introduction into the world of spirituality, and the concept of life/energy after death communication. But, I would think that when you are ready to go deeper, read the near-death stories by people who have died and gone into the light, and came back. It might comfort you even more. This review is from: Love Beyond Life: Healing Power of After-Death Communication, The (Hardcover)
Having lost a son I have great interest in this type of information and have read dozens of books on the subjects of life after death and after death contact. They range from feel good to wacky, with some truly imaginative theories offered for consideration. This book is a thoughtful piece of research which grew from a need to verify previous experience. (This team also wrote the "George Anderson" books.) I like the organization of the work and the handling of the material. This book presents descriptions of the many experiences that people can have after the passing of a loved one . One type of experience the authors call retrocognition, I experienced but found no reference to in other books. In fact, until I read this book, I didn't know what had happened to me. If you've lost a loved one and are wondering if that "weird" thing that happened to you means you've also lost your mind, you will be comforted to find that you are not only sane but have lots of company in experiencing the Love Beyond Life of loved ones who have died. If you have not lost a loved one but are searching for answers; this book is also for you. It will make you examine what you already believe and explore new areas of thought. READ THIS BOOK!

Joel Martin and Patricia Romanowski are a phenomenal writing team when it comes to literature on the after-life. After my tragic loss I was doubting my belief in the after life but, after reading Love Beyond Life: The Healing Powers of After Death Communications as well as We Don't Die, We Are Not Forgotten and Forever Our Children, I found the confirmation and comfort that our departed loved ones continue to go on and are with us.It is with great saddness that I had to look for these books but, I am grateful to both Mr. Martin and Ms.Romanowski that they have created such reassuring and reaffirming material.

5.0 out of 5 stars A POWERFULLY THOUGHT- PROVOKING BOOK!, September 21, 2001

No matter what one's religious beliefs may be, I think there is a part of us that wants to believe there is more to life than the body which carries us through this world. For people like myself who believe in Buddhist Philosophies, this is particularly true.

It does not matter what your religious background may be, "Love Beyond Life" is purely inspirational and compassionate reading. One is left with a clearer understanding that just because we can no longer see our dear departed ones standing beside us, that does not mean their presence is not here. Apart from helping us to understand the concept that life does not end with death, the book gives us a deeper appreciation of life and the importance of expressing our love to those close to us while they are still ours to cherish. To take each day for granted is one of the most foolish mistakes we can make for tomorrow is promised to no one. The book is highly recommended and deserving of a five star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Full and Well Researched Compilation, July 17, 2001
Whether you have just lost a loved one and are grieving sorely; have a general curiosity about the possibility of life after physical death; or even have an academic interest in the subject, this little book is for you!

I was clearly taken aback by the myriad of useful historical references and present day research Martin and Romanowski have packed into this book. I was thoroughly satisfied and heart-warmed by the enthralling and encouraging anecdotes peppered throughout and the relevance maintained with each story. The authors' writing is impeccable and succinct - clearly coming less from a pop-culture perspective and more from the true and serious nature of the curious phenomenon coined "After-Death Communications (ADC's)."

Many will carry little doubt as to the viability of the "survival" theory once they read this book. References are numerous, from the history of spirit communications in world religions to viewpoints from scholars in many disciplines and of course the personal stories of loved ones who reached through the veil of death to touch someone on this side of life...and there are many!

The gamut of ADC's are covered: dream visits to waking apparitions to hearing a departed loved one's voice that saved a life and more. Every page is packed with these and the diverse interpretations of each.

Martin and Romanowski's postulate is clear...we do continue to live in some capacity beyond the death of the physical body. Their viewpoint is derived from heavy research into the field of psi (psychic) phenomena and after death communications for over 20 years. Notably their work with well-known psychic medium, George Anderson has garnered them much attention.

As Martin conveys in the book's introduction, "...this intertwining of two of life's greatest mysteries offers an unprecedented opportunity to explain direct (after-death) communications, the true nature of death, and the way love endures. Love beyond Life brings forth a new view of a timeless, universal experience."

Simply put, Love Beyond Life is brilliantly and humbly written. Read it with an open-mind and heart and perhaps you too will contemplate the unbroken wholeness of all things - that which even death cannot separate!

5.0 out of 5 stars Validating book on life after death, September 26, 2005

Short stories about after death communication with loved ones. These have validated my own experiences in the spiritual realm.

Having had many of these experiences, it is always refreshing to find other persons whose beliefs and most importantly experiences confirm my own life path.

It is indeed a book of hope and lifts up your spirit as well as takes away the negative way of thinking of death.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gentle and compassionate work on a fascinating subject!, November 6, 2002
I have recommended Love Beyond Life many, many times and will continue to do so. Its gentle treatment of the subject of after-death communications makes this book the perfect recommendation to someone who has just suffered a loss. It is also fascinating reading for someone who just wants to know more about ADC's.

If you are going to read one book on the subject, this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Thorough and Thought Out, October 3, 2005
This book is fantastic. It gives a wonderful review of after-death communications and their therapeutic value. I myself am a grief counselor and find these techniques to be of immense value with bereaved clients. Patricia Romanowski and Joel Martin are excellent authors that are compassionate as well as receptive to many things. I am officially recommending this book.

It did exactly what the title promised. A little 'scientific' at times but it was easy to understand. It provided a wide variety of different types of after-death communications that were easy to relate to. I found it to be very helpful in my own 'healing process'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A HUGE comfort during this day and age, July 13, 2001

I have read this book twice, and when I feel like the world around me is caving in, I pick it up again. Death isn't usually something we worry about until you've lost a close friend, or worse, a family member. I have suffered anxiety and panick attacks for many years since my grandparents passed on because I feared death, and didn't understand it. Joel Martin has 3 or 4 other books out, "We Don't Die", "We Are Not Forgotten" and one dedicated to parents that have lost a child. These books are about George Anderson who is a medium, a very real, very wonderful, medium. Love Beyond Life, like the other books mentioned, is written to make us understand what happens after we pass on. There are no better books in print to help us to understand this than these. They are so comforting. I reccommend this book, along with his others, VERY HIGHLY. One of my goals in my life, to spend 1 hour with George Anderson. Read this book, you'll want to do the same!!!
